Continuing with the #curbit atrocity, CA DPH is doubling down on the fraud and genocidal malpractice with a new campaign of lies intended to demonize vaping and falsely scare smokers from switching to a harmless alternative.

Wow how can it be legal to lie like that beyond belief they can get away with stuff like that. I'm not an american and have never been to California nor will I ever be given their stupid stance on vaping but like pretty much everywhere else in the world we should never confuse the place or it's citizens by those elected to represent them and supposedly work on their behalf.

Ahhhhh, now that's refreshing, a TAX-REFORM issue! I doubt if there is a single hard-working American who wouldn't love to turn over some stones and see the nastiness underneath, so that something can be done about it!

Really I think this entire e-cigarette debacle has the potential to revolutionize political power as we know it, simply be revealing all the corruption inherent in tobacco-control crap. There are so many fingers in that pie, it's just horrifying.

Also used in anti freeze, this chemical can cause eye, throat and airway irritation.

makes me wonder why doctors use it as propellant fluid in inhalers for asthma patients then, if its so irritating to airways, why would a doctor want to screw up my lungs worse?

That website is full of just enough half truths to look credible.

For instance, I found this very odd statement:

"E-cig vapor can contain even more particles than tobacco smoke."

Depends on who you ask. A recent review of the literature found this:

Regarding particle concentration, two studies found this to be the same as in tobacco smoke (Fuoco et al., 2014 and Ingebrethsen et al., 2012), while three found the concentration to be lower, up to an order of magnitudes lower, than in smoke (Czogala et al., 2014, McAuley et al., 2012 and Pellegrino et al., 2012) and one study found that CCs produce more particles initially, but particle counts converge to a level comparable to the condensed vapor Zhang et al., 2013.

Two studies say more particles, three studies say less. One study says they are about the same. Hardly sounds conclusive to me, and certainly not conclusive enough for a public health department to be making authoritative statements. Also, there is this interesting tidbit about nicotine and particles:

Two ‘real-life’ condition studies found that vaping ECs with nicotine showed only marginal particulate matter production in indoor air, while it was much higher after vaping ECs without nicotine (Ruprecht et al., 2014 and Schober et al., 2014).

The ANTZ website goes on to say the following:

Antibiotic-resistant MRSA bacteria are harder to kill after being exposed to the particles in e-cig vapor. And another study found that e-cig aerosol decreases immune system response, and increases susceptibility of flu and pneumonia in mice.

Yes, these are both true. Studies did indeed show these things in animal models and cultures. What the ANTZ site doesn't tell you is that such studies have been done many times on analog cigs and the results are even worse. In the MRSA e-cig study, the author herself said that conventional smokes make the bacteria 10 times more resistant than e-cigs.

To sum it up, this ANTZ website claims the following:

1) Vaping causes heart disease (zero references anywhere)
2) Vaping causes or makes asthma worse (one study actually showed improvement in asthma symptoms)
3) Vaping causes short term lung damage (um, no. In some studies it did show an increase in airway resistance, whose clinical significance is probably diminutive)
4) Vaping gives bystanders cancer, lung disease, asthma attacks (death?). No references provided, of course.

I was looking at the kids section on stillblowingsmoke where they had pictures of ecigs supposedly being marketed to kids. These pictures and captions just make me want to bang my head against the wall.

what is that next to those ecigs and lollipops ? Oh that's alcohol. But that's ok right?

a whole cabinet of cigarettes and cloves, but wait up in the corner there is a small add for some ecigs. Isn't it already illegal to Market cigs to kids?

oh what is that to the right of those e cigs? Booze again. But it's the ecig that's being marketed to the kids?
