Teach me to vape properly, please!

Hi, I'm new to vaping and I am waiting for my first order. Before it gets here, I need to know how much should I vape at a time? I understand everyone is different, but I'd like to have a general idea. I purchased a starter kit (it says it has a Vision Ego cartomizer, if that helps) and a bottle of 12 mg VG e-liquid. I smoke 2 packs a day of Pall Mall lights. I would like to gradually add the vaping while still smoking traditional cigarettes, then once I get used to the vaping, taper off the regular cigarettes.

So say I want a cigarette, how much should I vape? How many "puffs" would be similar to the amount of nicotine in a regular cigarette? I have read through the info for new users and I can't figure it out. My only other experience with e-cigs was with Blu disposables. I bought one, opened the package and started hitting it like a regular cigarette. Then I ended up getting a bad migraine. I can't say for certain that the Blu cig caused it but it makes me wonder if I took in too much nicotine or something. I don't want a repeat of that.

Thanks so much for the help and all the info on this forum. God bless!

You may have gotten a headache from the pg used in most of the cig-a-likes, it may not have been the nic. Also it might depend on the nic level in the Blu. I am not familiar with the Blu e-cigs so I can't tell you much about that but as far as vaping, I have found that I do better with an e liquid that is 70%vg and 30% H2O. It is smoother and I don't have any side effects from it.
As far as to how much you should vape, it really does depend on you. I can go for hours without vaping but then there are times (like when I get on ecf) that I chain vape. Sometimes when I really feel like I am needing some nic, I'll go out to my sunroom (I never smoked in my house) and I'll vape similar to the way I smoked. I'll sit out there with some coffee or tea and just take hits on my pv just like I would have a cig. Generally your body will tell you when you are comfortable with your nic level.
Because you are absorbing the nic differently than you did with analogs it may take a few more hits than you were used to with the cigs, so just experiment and find your happy place.

BTW, I'm a Ky girl too! I also have friends who live out near Ashland. They live in Louisa.

Welcome and Happy Vaping!

I find that it's a totally different experience than smoking regular cigs...

When I want a ciggy bad, I grab my ecig and take 2-3 hard puffs, put it down and then vape irregularly every 20-30 seconds until the craving passes.

If I'm in the frame of mind just to smoke for no reason (i.e. not desperate for nicotine) I will vape on and off throughout the day, probably once a minute at most.

P.S. - those blue ecigs are apparently 24mg nicotine/ml, so your 12mg juice shouldn't give you headaches so quickly.
