Not sure how to word this... I built a dual coil @ .9 ohms. Which as I understand should mean each coil is roughly 1.8 ohms. Now, does that mean the battery is putting out amps for .9 or 1.8 ohms? Or somewhere in between?

Battery amps for 0.9 ohms. Its always the total resistance you use in V = I x R. So each coil receives half the amps of the total.
