My question is what does everyone think about titanium coils or wire?
#2. What does everyone think of nickel coils and wire

Both work well cte72, but are a bit different. All TC devices are calibrated for nickel so the temp you set with them is what you are limited to. Some mods also have a setting for titanium, but for the ones that don't your temp setting will be off. That is easy to deal with but is a consideration.

I find nickel a bit soft to work with and atty post design is a lot more critical because of this. Ti is harder which means it is easier to clamp in atty posts, but it does not tolerate dry burns as well as Ni does. Some people avoid dry burning both. Ti also has higher resistance per inch of wire which makes it a lot easier to build dual coil setups with.

Overall I prefer Ti.

Thank you for Mentioning this Ryedan.

I should have Mentioned that if a Person wants to use Titanium Grade 1 Wire on a TC Mod that does Not have a Ti setting, then they Need to Lower the Temperature setting by about 100F.

I only just started with TC vaping and only bought titanium wire.
My mod has a titanium setting and I did some TC fiddling to find its spot where it only lightly browns the cotton if dry burning.

I had a bit of trouble shaping the first coil as you can't really glow titanium. Low power pulsing seemed to do the trick without causing any white stuff appearing. I clean the grade 1 wire I have with pure alcohol to remove any potential surface residue.

So far I'm quite happy using a TC mod and the flavor seems good with titanium. I did not notice any significant change to my kanthal wire.

I have no experience with nickel, seemed tricky to use to me and never bothered with it.

Vaping on titanium wire in my subtank mini right now. Nice vape at 450F.

It's a nice vape too. I prefer Ti because it's a bit easier to use lower gauges and it isn't a toxic heavy metal. But, I doubt there is much risk from vaping nickel unless you have a severe allergy.

If there is a problem with nickle then there is a problem with kanthal because it is 80% nickle

No it's not. Kanthal has no nickel in it. You're thinking of Nichrome.

I prefer temp control but I missed the energy efficiency I got from kanthal. 1.5 ohm coils at 20 watts on an iStick 50 is good for days. .15 ohm nickel builds at 40 max watts uses way more battery. With Ti I can build a .75 ohm coil that rises to to 1.5 ohm at around 480 degrees and 20 max watts is enough. From what I can tell so far I'm getting more battery life with a comparable vape. How much more? Not sure yet.
