Hi folks this is a review of the Geek vape Tengu rda that was provided to me from Geek Vape for the purpose of this review.
TENGU rda COLOR CHOICES
THE RDA ITSELF
The Tengu RDA is a 24mm duel coil 4 piece unit consisting of a deck, outer barrel, detachable inner airflow sleeve and drip tip. The RDA is a very simple and easy to build on RDA that reminds me of the velocity's style of build deck only made better IMO. This is also able to be used as a squonking RDA using the provided 510 squonk pin.
TENGU CONTENTS
AIRFLOW OPERATION
The Tengu uses duel airflow slots located across from each other that are honeycombed with 13 holes for each slot that can be adjusted from side to side with hard stops.
The detachable airflow ring has 2 tabs at the top that fit into 2 groves inside the top of the body of the RDA letting the airflow ring move side to side with hard stops both ways. The bottom of the airflow ring also has 2 tabs that sit in 2 small cutouts on the deck itself.
TENGU DECK
The deck of the Tengu is a very simple design somewhat like a velocity style but better. The deck consists of 2 outside negative posts and a inside T shaped positive post that is slightly separated from the negative posts. The reason for the separation is because the positive post has 2 holes on each side to transport juice when using it as a squonk RDA. Negative post screws are angled and mine came with flat head screws, positive post are straight. The deck is roomy allowing for large builds. Time to talk about juice wells, depth is 6mm and are plenty deep and forgiving if over squonked or over dripped, Iv'e used the Tengu for about 2 weeks and never had a juice overflow squonking or dripping. Speaking of dripping the Tengu uses a peaked bridge at the top of the positive post that allows juice to flow evenly to each coil.
MY IMPRESSIONS
My first impression of the Tengu is SIMPLE and EASY. This is a great RDA for new builders wanting to try building on a duel coil deck because this is almost goof proof. This RDA is also great for seasoned builders also saving time when building because it's so easy . Airflow is very smooth at any position but because of the way it closes down airflow if you go beyond 1/3 the airflow begins to hit the coil in a lopsided way (only hitting part of the coil). I prefer it fully open or just 1/3 closed and get a great smooth, flavorful vape. Speaking about flavor the Tengu provides very good flavor. The vape I get from the Tengu is a smooth semi-restricted flavorful one.
PROS
24mm
Duel Coil
Simple Build Deck
Very Good Flavor
Smooth Airflow
Squonkable
Deep Juice Wells
Nice Color Selection
CONS
Lopsided Airflow past 1/3 closed
I would like to thank Carrie from Geek Vape and Geek Vape for providing the TENGU for this review. I hope this review helps answer any questions other vapers had about the TENGU.
