So, been vaping (eGo) about 3 weeks and yesterday one of my atty suddenly started tasting really bad, tried cleaning it (both with alcohol and the method listed by Janty). While cleaning it looked like something was stuck in it, such as filler... went to remove it, turned out to be wick and it was slightly burned... still tasted like crap, and really hard to pull. Switched to the TAWA atty I got, and ordered a replacement.

So, puffing all day on my TAWA atty, no issues. About 12 hours, get home, suddenly tastes like crap... just like the first atty did. Tried different battery, different juice, straight dripping... no change, tastes like crap. Tried cleaning the atty, the water method Janty manual says to use. STILL tastes like crap... what is going on?

No way I can get a replacement for a couple days, and really don't want to go back to smoking...

just have to wait for the new atty. honestly, 3 weeks is pretty normal for an atty, so it's just time for a new one.

the Throw Away Atomizer you have, only thing you might want to try is just intentionally flooding it with juice then blowing from the cart end all the juice out of it into a napkin. do a very short dry burn, without letting it glow.

add three more drops give it a vape, judge how much is in there, and another drop or two if you have to.

probably won't work but that's the best advice i can give. it's just time for a new atty.

i personally don't bother cleaning atomizers. it does more harm than good.

sorry it's tough, but the new one will be in in no time.

smoking an analog isn't the end of the world, but try to avoid it if possible.

seems like you should be putting more juice in your carts a little more regular than you already are.

Although this doesnt help the predicament your in now, its wise for the future.

Try, if you can, using a toothpick to clear the burned foam, ive found that soaking your atomiser may kill it (if its your only one, thats the last thing you need) So try extra juicing a cart after the toothpick task and see if it cant clear the last of that horrible taste away

Hopefully... with a little patience, it should clear and your free to go :toast:

Three weeks, I used the TAWA only a couple days over those three weeks... I could understand the first one, but a couple days (spread over 3 weeks) and the TAWA is dead?

I use plenty of juice, constantly topping it off... The first couple days I was using too little, but increased it and now keeps it at almost full.

Burnt wick = too dry an atty.

Your carts may not be flowing sufficiently due to either:

  • juice viscosity;
  • batting; and or
  • both; or
  • you are vaping them too dry as previously stated.
The indication that you pulled batting away from the atty is a clear indication that you vaped them too dry.

FWIW I vape at 6V with carts, without a problem. The key a good flowing liquid and batting that keeps the liquid in suspension and allows it to flow freely and prevents the atty from flooding. All this will come with time.

BTW 6v goes through liquid faster than you can say Jackie Robinson.

As I stated, I THOUGHT it was batting, turned out it was the wick. I keep the batting extremely wet, take a few puffs, add another drop. If I were to put any more juice on it it would be overfilled.

had an atty do that one time. TERRIBLE burnt plastic taste. I tried everything to make it go away. It was only after I removed the wick that the taste was gone. I have heard people that drip sometimes prefer to remove the wick. I'm not sure why. When I did it, the burning taste was gone, but the atty seemed to leak considerably more. I drip exclusively, and would not recommend removing the wick unless its a last ditch effort to remove burnt wick taste.
