I'm finally getting my first DIY order today and have a quick question about % of flavor for peppermint and cinnamon red hots.

I have been using McCormick peppermint and cinnamon flavorings at 28% and I really like them, nice warm vape full of flavor!

The unflavored nic juice I got is 50%pg/50%vg.

Is the TFA flavoring more concentrated? I have heard that both of these flavors are very strong which is why I got them :)

What mix should I use? I'm thinking starting at 10% and working up from there.

I mixed 10% TFA cinnamon red hot and 90% 50/50 pg/vg. The flavor is out of this world, yummmmmmmmy! I would say it might be pretty strong for the average vaper but if you like Cinnamon Red Hots out of the box, 10% is perfect.

I mixed 10% TFA peppermint and 90% 50/50 pg/vg. The flavor is a very nice warm peppermint, not too strong but definitely minty.

Kfrisbee,, you ordered my two favorite flavors.. I am also waiting for my first diy order of peppermint and cinnamon red hots flavor concentrate... But I ordered "Flavor West" from ecigexpress.com.

I have been ordering pre-made juice, peppermint candy cane and cinnamon fireball from EC Blends and I always have them add sweetener. So I ordered sweetener as well.. I find it helps both the peppermint and the cinnamon more closely replicate the actual candy.. Gives it a nice sweet hit. These are my two favorite flavors.

Cant help you with the percent thing... though sorry...

Good luck and keep us posted on how it comes out.. Im very interested in those flavors.

I just got a small bottle of the TFA cinnamon redhots in the mail . .I was planning on making a recipe I saw here posted by Little Girl . . 10% graham cracker + 1 drop cinnamon redhots per 3ml of mixed juice.

However - further research indicates that the cinnamon redhots might not be very safe to vape - apparently it has natural cinnamon which is possibly bad for lungs and teeth?

Does anybody think using 1 drop in 3mls of juice would cause a problem?

BTW - I'm currently vaping peppermint juice made with 15% TFA peppermint - 60%vg and 16mg. It's a really great vape - very brisk . .but not obnoxious or anything.

Bosco,

All I have heard about cinnamon is that it may not work well in poly Carbonate tanks. Ive seen it recomended that it be used in polypropolene tanks. This is from Ecblends.com:

READ ALL WARNINGS :

NOTE 1: LIMITED BASE MIXES: The recipe used in the Cinnamon Fireball does not blend very well at lower VG percentages.

NOTE 2: DO NOT USE CINNAMON FIREBALL WITH POLYCARBONATE TANKS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. (Read Review portion below):

Posted By: Dungeoner : I've actually melted 3 Vivi Nova tank threads with this juice, and almost completely melted the bottom of an acrylic threaded drip-tip on a Stardust. I didn't know what that odd flavor was when I was vapping till I unscrewed the drip-tip and found that it didn't want to come out too easily. The entire shaft was disfigured & broken down. I actually threw out the Stardust after that.

I should note that the Nova tanks lasted a good 3 weeks of constant use before the threads were too far gone. The Stardust drip-tip however, lasted less than a week; perhaps 3-4 days.

What is your source on the lungs and teeth advice?

I don't have any real source - but there is a thread on here talking about it:

After a little bit of experimenting I have reduced the cinnamon to 5% making it less strong but still has the great taste and PUNCH as before. I also tried cutting in 25% VG to the above mix which reduced the TH a bit. I don't know which I like better........

I decided that the Peppermint wasn't minty enough so I upped it to 15% leaving everything else the same. I like it better but I still don't think it's perfect; great taste but the initial draw tastes kind if funny on my tongue....
