Upgraded from the tfv4 to the tfv8. 3 days in the top became extremly hard to close. Eventually it would not close at all and the fill pad would no longer fit without popping out. It seams the pad is stretching out and becomes larger than the spot it sits in. So i used the spare it came with and the top 100% would not close no matter how hard i torqued on it. Took it to the shop i bought it from, they could not close it either and pulled the spare pad out of the display and that didnt work either. They ended up swapping me the top off the display model which worked like a charm. Now its no more than a week later and the the fill pad is stretched out and wont close again. This happened with my tfv4 but pads usually lasted me 4 months or so.
I went to order extra fill pads and noticed alot of places are sold out, where as a week ago they seemed to be in stock everywhere. Seems like there must be alot of people having this problem and yet i cant find a single thread anywhere discussing this problem.

Anyone else having this problem? And has anyone found a solution? Or have any ideas?

Huh never had that issue on mine. It's possible they gave you clone. It's happened to me stores sometimes get clones without realizing it. I never had an issue with my TFV4 either and that thing was used and abused for about a year now. One thing that might help is making sure where the gasket goes is nice and dry before you install it.

What kind of juice are you using? Some juices swell rubber and silicone gaskets and orings. For instance, I'm a huge Radiator Pluid fan (or anise/absinthe flavored juices in general)! The only problem is it KILLS anything rubber or silicone. Rubber more so. The silicone lasts much longer but I still need to change out gaskets and orings because it makes them swell to where they no longer fit! (Silicone swells, regular rubber just falls apart)

If you're using an acidic juice or something with orange, banana, pineapple, anise etc (commonly known as "tank-cracker" juices) it could be causing your issue.

Brother bob i came accross the leak fix videos, seems to be the only provlem/fix video out there. However leaking isnt really the problem.

Ckquatt i think you may have figured this out. I mix my own liquid mostly because its wicked expensive to buy 30ml bottles. I buy 8oz bottles of 100% vg premixed with 3mg nicotine. About 6 months ago i switched from strawberry lemonade to strapple (strawberry apple banana). Then i went to strawberry banana but instead of getting a bottle of strawberry banana flavoring i got a bottle of each so i could play with the ratio. Once in a while i mix a bottle of just banana or just strawberry, kind of like a palette cleanser. Im betting the banana is making the silicone swell just as you suggested. I dont think its so much the strawberry because the strawberry lemonade didnt give me this problem.

Any way big thanks for helping me narrow this down i was pretty much out of ideas at thia point.

I may end up using the tfv4 for banana flavors and run something new on the tfv8. The tfv4 sealpads are cheaper and easy to get right now.
