Thank you ECF members for sharing! Every success story is worth everything in the world to me. To know that I am not alone, we all share some battle wounds although they may not be exactly the same, they are our nightmares with the battle to quit. I've wondered how many times I would have to try to quit and be unsuccessful. We have all found ourselves here on this forum were we lick our wounds kick the evil habit and get on with it. It was here that I learned how to quit smoking and how to make vaping work for me as those before me did the same. As I get better I too will help those who come here after me and our circle will grow strength in numbers and in wisdom.

Thank you, my only regret is that I wish I had known way back when what I know now, My Step mom, my only mom.... wanted so much to live and to quit smoking, she had to choose. I do know she would be so proud of me for finding a way, just wish I could share it with her. But in her absence I will share with my daughter and everyone I know.

I'm sorry to unload this here but I have thought about this everyday, about her, trying not to get myself all emotional and all peed off. I just had to let this one out and try to let it go.

That's what we're here for, to listen and to help and believe me when I say that we understand very well. I come from a family of 9 kids and we all ended up smoking as well as mom and dad. Dad passed in '87 from multiple cancer, and a few more are not far behind. I know at my age that the damage has been done, but vaping has now since provided me with a feeling that I gave up on quite some time ago - looking ahead.

It's almost like there comes a time when long-time smokers realize that the grim reaper is just waiting in the shadows and there's nothing you can do about it. Well as it turns out, vaping may just keep him at bay for just a bit longer. More than 6 months and I still feel my health getting better each and every day.

Thank you for sharing shortstuff116, last night hit me a little rough with my mom and I appreciate your listening ear.

ECF really IS a big extended family. Any time you want to vent, we're here! :)

Sorry to hear about your mom and yes, I'm SURE she's VERY proud of you.
