Hi all, I just signed up for this forum today but I have been reading posts and threads from members here for weeks now, So I just wanted to say a thank you to all the members here for the very informative information I receive every time I have a question and open up this website for answers. I'm new to vaping myself but have been curious for a while now so I decided about a month ago to order an ecig online and give it a try. After a few weeks when my ecig arrived I have to say I was sold on it, for obvious reasons, and managed to completely go smoke free for almost 2 weeks. Now here is the sad part, just before my initial order ran out I ordered some more supplies and had it timed to arrive just before I ran out. So as my order was scheduled to arrive yesterday and me being very impatient tracking my order every 5 minutes for the past few days I was curious why It was stuck in clearance delay for almost a week. I decided to call the shipping company to see what the issue was and my order managed to be stopped by customs here in Canada and it is now in the hands of Health Canada and never to be received by me. After a few phone calls and a few emails I'm left waiting for a reply from Health Canada as to what there intentions are to do with it, ie return it or destroy it. I hoping very much they return it so the supplier can at least refund my money. So unfortunately I went to the store and bought a pack of cigarettes because i'm not quite ready to give them up without the aid of my electronic cigarette. I am going to be optimistic with my quest to be smoke free and I'm not going to let Health Canada win and I will continue my quest. So thank you for reading this and I hope to be a contributing member to this forum as all the other members are.

George, Welcome to ECF, so sorry to hear about your bad experience with HC... been reading about such things a lot lately. Try to get your post count up to 5, wait one hour and I believe you'll be able to post in the Canada Forum here on ECF. Meantime you *might* be able to browse around there & read existing threads, maybe get some ideas as to how your countrymen are dealing with this. Best of luck, don't give up & Happy Vaping! :toast:

Could be wrong, but regardless of who the carrier is, postal service or private courier, Canada Customs still has to approve the shipment ... I kid you not, I've been charged $35 (over an above the shipping cost I paid to the vendor) extra by UPS on a shipment from the US for $65 ... and the charges only go up from there if value of the shipment is more ... you have to re-imburse them the GST they paid on your behalf, plus an extra charge for them doing that for you, plus charges for customs brokerage fees etc. etc ... which is a joke because of NAFTA. USPS/Canada Post will collect the GST from you plus a flat $5 for processing regardless of the shipment cost ... and only if the declared value is over $20... otherwise they charge you nothing.

Just saying be careful, you could lose the goods, and still owe the courier substantial money, though why you would pay them for something you're never going to get is debateable.

To the OP , check out Canadian vendors www.CANVAPE.com for your hardware, and Maple Leaf Vapes or Jugheads for your e-liquid.

Thanks for all your replys and words of encouragement, I will definitely have to check out some of the suggested websites closer to home. I did contact the supplier and they did say they would resend it at shipping cost but i asked if they would recharge me the cost for the supplies and the girl was unsure so Im just gonna have to contact them when I talk to health Canada .I really like the supplier I was getting from though so its very unfortunate. I will sign that petition too. I guess I'm lucky that I didn't get any extra charges, although I did only have 2 orders and 1 never got through lol

Just a little update, Health Canada returned my phone call and I did manage to find my package and I am having it returned to sender, which is great news that I wont be loosing out on that money. DHL did inform me that they won't be accepting shipments into Canada from this company anymore. I'm unsure if it would make it through using USPS but I don't really want to take the risk. Now I did make a few inquires with Health Canada as to possibilities of allowing shipments into Canada with nicotine in the ejuice or cartos and there answer was very interesting. They told me that they have made offers to outside suppliers to send samples of there products for testing purposes and never got 1 sample for testing. I found that kinda strange, I guess the demand here in Canada isn't strong enough. So my safest option would be to buy here in Canada. I'm not against buying locally but I am new to this and when i did my research I wanted to make sure I was getting a good product and a certain company in the US seemed to have a very good product with good prices and good reviews, and I did really enjoy it when i received it. So I'll have to take this as a learning experience and keep my eyes on the Canadian products for now and hope that some day soon we can all vape freely with products from any part of the world without having to worry if when we order it from outside our own country if it will even make it to our doorsteps. Thanks again
