Finding e-cigs has been truly amazing for me, and empowering.
A little over a year ago I gave up. I failed at my final attempt to quit smoking. After 35 years of a seductive love hate affair with cigarettes, and countless attempts to end it, I accepted, for the first time in my life, that something had beaten me. For me, that was a first.
I cried.
But not for me, for the people who I loved.
More so, for those who loved me.
That's when I accepted, that I would very likely die because of smoking, and I would leave behind, people who loved me. They would hurt more then I.
A few months later, (Dec, 1st/11) quite by accident, I stumbled onto an e-cig kit in a head shop. I was a bit curious, had never heard of them before. The girl behind the counter appeared so I asked her what was up with them. She didn't know much, but the boss lets her use them inside the store instead of going out for a smoke. She said they were a lot like having a smoke, she even sold a couple of them at $87 a pop. I was intrigued, yet thought scam, scam, scam. She asked if I wanted to try one. I did. I was shocked! It was like having a drag on a smoke. After weighing out scam verses something that is a lot like a smoke, I took a chance. I walked out of there with an E-Health kit & 2 packs of high nic cartridges and $127 less in my pocket, and no Xmas shopping done. More importantly, I had a renewed hope, that maybe, just maybe, I found what I needed.
I had.
That kit had lead me to a google search, that lead me to information, that lead me to ECF, that lead me to better equipment & support.
On this day last year, I had my last cigarette.
I never thought I would get to say that. It feels kinda special, empowering too.
I didn't do it alone. Thank you to all the great members in the vaping community, your support & help has made a difference.
Also, a hats off to Canvape, Jugheads & Maple Leaf Vapes, you guys really set me up to win.
