Greetings,

I have been lurking this section of ECF since the 4th, trying to get as much information on DIY as I can before making the jump. Firstly, I just want to thank you all for the hard work and information that you have supplied us. The Excel spreadsheet is amazing, and helped me figure out how much of nicotine, PG, VG and flavors I need with my initial purchase. Plus, the cost saving section was the clincher in realizing I should try to DIY.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself to this section of the forum since I will likely be reading your posts and asking questions along the way. I'm so excited, and hope my supplies come by next weekend to start my first batch.

By the way, reading the forum and recipes that people have posted made me realize that the B&M are just doing the same thing. I have seen some recipes that DIYers have posted that I swear some of my local B&M have copied and sell for nearly 15times the cost of making it.

You are truly "vaping chefs", whereas they are just "vaping cooks" using your recipes! Kudos to all of you for sharing your knowledge.

I've been lurking also (grin) - and learning LOTS on this subject. I'd like to also add to the DIY juice subject, the fact that as you come off the stinkies, your taste buds will begin working again, and your smeller - so for awhile, just mix up smaller batches 20ml or 30ml of things you like presently. Cuz a couple months down the road, what used to seem 'very nice' will soon become very overpoweringly 'minty' or somesuch - at least it did to me! The tobacco flavors I began vaping with are now distasteful and I'm looking for 'lighter/sweeter' ones.
I guess, this change in our likes is also part of the process we go through in the switch. NancyB p.s. I've learned also, that you can dilute your previous (yuck) mixes down to basically no taste and end up with a pretty blah 'base' to begin with a lesser amount of flavor 'this time' around (grin). I read somewhere that a member found some TFA (The Flavor Apprentice) concentrates to be perfumey - I have also on some. Does steeping the mixes eliminate the perfume of the flavor, as well as mellow out and blend the mix?
