Thanks for having me!

I'm a new member, but have been lurking around since the day I started vaping. I started April 3rd and haven't smoked an analog since then. I have to say that I am proud of myself because I was a pack and a half a day smoker for 35 years. The only other time I dropped analogs was when I was pregnant with my twin daughters. I did it for them. This time, I'm doing it for me. I have to say that this community has been such a blessing! Thank you all so much for giving your knowledge and advice to noobs like me.

Right now, I'm using eGo style 1100 mah batteries with Evod BCC atomizers. I also have a few iClear 16's, but I like the Evods a little better. It's just a simple little set-up....for now. I do have one Ego-C Twist. I don't appreciate it more than the standard ones probably because I'm too new to know what I'm missing! As far as juices, I have two that I ADV - Illusion (mild tobacco) and Raging Bull (Red Bull). Others I've tried so far - Peach Tobacco, Blueberry, Envy (mint), Cinnamon Candy Cane, Mountain Dude, and Pina Cobana. I also have two flavor additives, Breaking Blue and Breaking Red from cuecig. All of my juices are mixed 50/50, 12 mg.

I have so much to learn. This hobby is so fun and addicting! Now I need some advice please. I need to purchase some replacement coils for my Evods. Which ohm's should I get - 1.5, 1.8, 2.2, or 2.5? And why? What's the difference? I'm not trying to make huge clouds. I like pretty much the same amount of exhale that I used to get from analogs if that matters in deciding.

Thanks again to you all! I'm so happy to be a part of such a friendly community! :)

Hi Crazy Diamond and welcome to ECF. I think it would be best to start with what you have. Do you like it? Is it keeping you satisfied and away from smoking? If so, I'd go with what you have, which is probably 2.2 ohms (that's about the standard for the ego). If not, decide what you'd prefer. If you would prefer more cloud with a little more heat, go with 1.8. If you want to experiment with your twist (because your regular battery might struggle with the higher resistance), try the 2.5.

I've been in this for about as long as you, so take my :2c: for what it's worth. Welcome aboard!

If you are using the twist I prefer to use the 1.8 ohm coil. this way you will set up the volt around 3.7-4.2 depending on your preference of the vape. Usually more volt on a less ohm coil will give more vapor but less flavor. also less volt will help increasing the number of hits per charge.

this chart is always a good reference to look at http://www.vaporsworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/power-vaping-chart-lg.jpg

Look on the bottom band of your coil. You should see a number etched there. That will be the ohms for the coil you are using. If you like what you are getting from that coil, order more of the same. We just switched from cigalikes with cartos to Evods around 2 months ago, and are still trying to find what we like better. I have been going between 1.8 and 2.2 ohms. Neither my daughter nor I liked the 2.5 ohm coils that we got with one of our starter sets.

The best resistance for you is the one YOU like best. People have already mentioned the difference, lower = warmer and more. I would recommend you get some evod coils in different ohms and give them a try. If you can tell the difference, I can't, use the one you like. Some people will have a different taste, I don't, at different ohms.

Different voltages on the twist will also give a different vaping experience. Higher voltage will be similar to lower ohms. Try vaping at one voltage, then take a break and try another voltage.

If you use lower voltages the battery will last longer between charges so you might want to move to a lower ohm and lower voltage.

Above all YOU have fun vaping. Some of us like to screw around with everything and be vapor gourmets. Others just like to put the juice in and vape.

Wow! Thank you everyone for your advise and suggestions. What came in these Evods is 2.5, which is not so bad. Thanks glointhedark for telling me how to look for what I have. I know you can't really compare because they're entirely different, but I've been using 1.5's in the iClear 16's and I like the way it hits better. Overall, I prefer the Evod for several other reasons though. I'm going to go down a notch and order 2.2. According to Ak-vap's chart (thank you!), I can't go wrong since it's in the proper range. If I understand everything, it will be slightly warmer than 2.5 and that should bring out the taste more? I prefer great taste over huge clouds anytime.

You guys are great! So appreciate you all!
