Thanks all for the advice. You're all correct about the learning curve, but I'm climbing it steadily. I did some lurking over the last couple of weeks while I have been traveling and decided to try the eGo-T. There's a story about my first try with it , but I'll leave that for the last. I can see I still have a long way to go and appreciate the advice on getting items at a lower cost.
While I was waiting on my eGo-T, I learned a bit with the Firebrand. Please feel free to chime in and share your thoughts or advice.
1. When you get new Firebrand cartridges, it seems like they work a lot better if you pull out the "lint" and work it around a bit. It might be the oils from you fingers, or it could be just getting them loosened up; but I found I could fill them easier and they seemed to vape longer and better after do this.
2. DONT leave the 510 style e-cigs in your pocket with the battery end down. I did this quite a bit over the past week or so and ended up having liquid leak down into the battery where it appears to have gummed up the auto-starter. They started dragging harder and harder until I got worried. I took one battery off and blew through it directly and started getting brown liquid leaking out the other end. After about an hour or so, it freed up enough that it started working again (for now). My spare battery appears to be toast now though and will not work. Glad I already had my eGo-T ordered.
3. No matter how excited you are, don't use the new batteries without making sure they are fully charged. Of the two starter batteries I got, I can see a definite difference in the charge life between the one I fully charged and the one I whipped out and used without charging (guess which one of the died off course... see 2 above).
Now for the eGo-T story. It finally arrived today. I ordered from ExtremeVapors and got a nice, fancy box with the standards 2 atomizers and 2 batteries, charger + 7 tanks. The eGo-T had much a much better instruction book and I took time to read it through twice.
I pulled out both batteries and charged them up to full before use. Once the first one was done charging, I filled up one of the two tanks that came inserted in pre-assembled e-cigs. The 5 spares had the plastic fill/drip caps, but the two that were pre-assembled did not. You can probably guess what happened. The first drag was awesome. Huge plume, rich vape. The second drag was straight e-liquid. After spitting out the juice and doing a thorough cleaning of the e-cig parts, I came back here and found out about needing to use the caps.
Boy did I feel stupid, but it sure seems like Extreme Vapor could have packaged them as they are intended to be used or Joye could have been a bit more clear in their instructions. It doesn't say to leave the cap on or to take it off and with my previous firebrand experience the caps were assumed by me to be use for keeping the liquid in for pre-loading the spares.
BTW, what is the best way to cap a spare tank? Do most folks cap with unused tank caps and keep re-using the same used cap until it wears out? Then replace as you eventually run out? If anyone can post a good link to an eGo-T maintenance thread it would be much appreciated. In the meantime, I will begin the hunt.
Hope someone else can learn from my mistakes and Thanks again to all you veterans that replied to my first post.
