Glad I found this forum. I just got my first refillable kit from firebrand. I'm hoping to get some help.m.

I got turned on to e-cigs by picking up some cheap Mistic disposables at the local gas station. Got my Firebrand mega starter kit and have been a little disappointed. The vapor is great on refill, but the batteries and filled carts don't seem to last near as long. Must be doing something wrong. Any tips would be appreciated.

Firebrands website is pretty disappointing in terms of customer support. I couldn't find any help links. Their refund policy says the only refund unopened items but then I saw a response to another thread where their CEO said they have a money back satisfaction guarantee.

Happy vapes and hoping for more myself.

Are they slim batteries the same size around as the atomizers? In any case it looks you overpaid by at least $20 and some of the similar kits can cost as low as just over $30 on reasonable sites..if you want long lasting batteries you have to go with eGo style batteries..they are fatter than the slims but usually last a good 6 hours with heavy vaping.

I suggest you checkout MadVapes as they are a reputable site with good customer service and competitive prices. One good thing is if you can't return your kit it looks like they are the 510 connector and if they are you can use carts/atomizers with eGo 510 batteries..there is a learning curve with ecigs but don't worry you're on this site and it will steer you in the right direction..good luck :)

Welcome Watson! I, too, am not familiar with the Firebrand. If you got the Millenium, it is 180mah which is a short-lived battery. Many here have not had much success with their first purchase. It may not be enough. There are better batteries avialable by suppliers on ECF. Look around and ask questions!!!

Thanks all for the advice. You're all correct about the learning curve, but I'm climbing it steadily. I did some lurking over the last couple of weeks while I have been traveling and decided to try the eGo-T. There's a story about my first try with it , but I'll leave that for the last. I can see I still have a long way to go and appreciate the advice on getting items at a lower cost.

While I was waiting on my eGo-T, I learned a bit with the Firebrand. Please feel free to chime in and share your thoughts or advice.

1. When you get new Firebrand cartridges, it seems like they work a lot better if you pull out the "lint" and work it around a bit. It might be the oils from you fingers, or it could be just getting them loosened up; but I found I could fill them easier and they seemed to vape longer and better after do this.

2. DONT leave the 510 style e-cigs in your pocket with the battery end down. I did this quite a bit over the past week or so and ended up having liquid leak down into the battery where it appears to have gummed up the auto-starter. They started dragging harder and harder until I got worried. I took one battery off and blew through it directly and started getting brown liquid leaking out the other end. After about an hour or so, it freed up enough that it started working again (for now). My spare battery appears to be toast now though and will not work. Glad I already had my eGo-T ordered.

3. No matter how excited you are, don't use the new batteries without making sure they are fully charged. Of the two starter batteries I got, I can see a definite difference in the charge life between the one I fully charged and the one I whipped out and used without charging (guess which one of the died off course... see 2 above).

Now for the eGo-T story. It finally arrived today. I ordered from ExtremeVapors and got a nice, fancy box with the standards 2 atomizers and 2 batteries, charger + 7 tanks. The eGo-T had much a much better instruction book and I took time to read it through twice.

I pulled out both batteries and charged them up to full before use. Once the first one was done charging, I filled up one of the two tanks that came inserted in pre-assembled e-cigs. The 5 spares had the plastic fill/drip caps, but the two that were pre-assembled did not. You can probably guess what happened. The first drag was awesome. Huge plume, rich vape. The second drag was straight e-liquid. After spitting out the juice and doing a thorough cleaning of the e-cig parts, I came back here and found out about needing to use the caps.

Boy did I feel stupid, but it sure seems like Extreme Vapor could have packaged them as they are intended to be used or Joye could have been a bit more clear in their instructions. It doesn't say to leave the cap on or to take it off and with my previous firebrand experience the caps were assumed by me to be use for keeping the liquid in for pre-loading the spares.

BTW, what is the best way to cap a spare tank? Do most folks cap with unused tank caps and keep re-using the same used cap until it wears out? Then replace as you eventually run out? If anyone can post a good link to an eGo-T maintenance thread it would be much appreciated. In the meantime, I will begin the hunt.

Hope someone else can learn from my mistakes and Thanks again to all you veterans that replied to my first post.

The Ego-T tank system can work OK with a little babysitting. It'll definitely tide you over while you wait for your cartomizers to be delivered. Regardless, the Ego batteries you have now will serve you really well.

As far as tank storage, I agree that they didn't really plan ahead for a good way to store full tanks. I typically only put in what I'm going to use for a session and vape it dry, but that may just be me (I change flavors a lot).

Supplier: Madvapes is good -- Boge Refillable 510 Cartomizers 2.0ohm
