I just wanna extend a thank you to CASAA - particularly to Thulium. As most, if not, all of you know King County Washington was one of the first to pass restrictive regulation against ecigarette use by adults in public. Some members of the Board of Health in Pierce County are trying to follow suit, using the King County decision as "evidence" of harm. Unlike their neighbor county, they are using an actual procedure and there will be no double voting.
With 48 hours notice, casaa mounted the best defense they (we, now, though I was not a member at the time) could, and thulium took the long drive up to make a very good speech.
In Pierce county, I think, we have a fighting chance - and council members have already spoken out opposing the ordinance. Again Thulium is taking the long drive up here to defend our rights here in Washington, and I want to extend a huge thank you.
This particular area is seen by "the masses" as "very liberal" - ie, loose laws about "green" stuff. I've seen the King County ordinance used as evidence in similar bills/ordinances/laws proposed across the country as proof; even though the voting members themselves said, "We're opening up ourselves to lawsuits." Quote: "If they are banning them in washington, the home of Hemp Fest, then they must be dangerous!" Unfortunately, some of us have pointed this out as well. "liberal" doesn't mean what it used to.
In closing, the battle line seems to be being drawn here ... And I'm very thankful to casaa for helping fight. I look forward to vaping with many of you in person on Monday
