Guess I'm lucky to have a good mail carrier. Ours call me if I need to sign for something to make sure I'm home.

So... how much do you tip him/her?? Do you tip with "natural" favors by any chance?

Mine will ring the bell once and I better be fast enough to answer if I'm even home at that time... I can only tell because I was home once when she came by. In the end, I'm asking because I wonder if I should have invited her in :D

Man almost the same thing happened to me today. I ordered some DIY juice supplies yesterday from across town. I live in new apartment complex right now and I got a text message that says the package was delivered at 12:39pm. So I went and checked the mailbox and it wasn't in there and there was no note from the post office. So I guess the people in the apartment complex office have my mail and all this happened after they went home for the day. So my package is sitting in their office and I can't get it til tomorrow around 12pm because its Sunday and they open late. First world problems haha.

We give like a $50 gift card for Christmas so she can go with her husband somewhere for dinner, but i mean she just has been the same mail lady for years. She even gives every house that has dogs, dog treats. She has a notebook full of numbers. It just seems to be her nice southern nature haha

So, if I leave money and phone number for my mail lady, I should get excellent service, got it! (It won't make a difference if I have never met her or if it's a straight guy, right?)

Sounds like you're on a good mailing route. I get a different mail man/lady every now and then. It's not a bad road if you ask me; they get a vehicle, short distances to walk between addresses and they have a straight drive back to the post office, less than 15 minutes away. They used to leave my parcels at the outlet on the way and I could pick them up the same day they left the card 90% of the time, even though it is supposed to be next day after 11 am. That outlet has now been transferred to the one I drive right by when coming back from work, but they only get my packages the next day. Now I have to stop on the way back home or on Saturdays while I drive to the store. Lazy bassturds! I much preferred getting back in the car and going for an extra 20 minute drive in even more traffic on the same day than stopping by the next day. It is just preposterous! I can't even imagine what it's like for those who have to wait the next Monday...

It could always be worse. Whenever my regular mail carrier goes on vacation, the neighbors and I spend the afternoon trading mail, because the "replacement" carrier can't seem to match mail with mailbox numbers. And I live on a street with only about a 15 houses, lol.

And I've been at home all day a few times, only to find the little sticky note on my front door - again, when my regular carrier is on vacation. Go figure.

Even my regular mail carrier screws up, even though he gets a nice Xmas and Valentine's day gift from us. He delivers my packages next door to the mentally ill woman who refuses to give them to me. I have to call the supervisor, who contacts the carrier, to go there and demand my packages. Now, I leave notes taped to my mail box with the tracking number, saying I have a package OUT FOR DELIVERY TODAY to MY ADDRESS, not next door. They're insulted, but I'm insulted that I need to babysit them. TFB! Do your job!

I'm so thankful that we have a regular post delivery fellow-who is otherly nicotine addicted-but understands none the less lol He will tell the carriers that take his place on off days to call me and let me know there is a package at the post for me to pick up. Living in CO can be a nightmare for liquid if its cold outside LOL Very rarely does anything slip through the cracks if I tell him its coming. Usually if something is delayed, it's on me for not telling him hahaha
