That's the one where truth triumphs over the evil and the lies, and we are finally left in peace.

Most of us knew that the government and the media are lying to us. But to what extent they are lying to us - feeding us the precise opposite of the truth - now that was indeed a revelation. And the complete and utter disillusionment is not only with regard to the public - who are deliberately manipulated - but also with regard to those who spoon-feed us deliberate lies. Also the lies about "democracy" and about "the people" having any kind of "power". Nothing could be further from the truth.

Once you have reached this stage, the change is irreversible.

All we in Europe can do is work to educate our own environment, write to our representatives - and hope that somebody will take all this crap to court. I would most definitely chip in to support a court case. By a representative of the people, against Big Money and Big Greed. In my home country, the courts have reversed / stopped nonsensical policies several times. In my home country, the courts go by the (codified) law and pass their verdicts in accordance with facts. Thankfully.

.. and in case anybody wonders why some vapers appear cold, disillusioned, sarcastic when it comes to politicians and their "for the chiiildren", to "public health" figures and to their lies ("public death" would be more like it) .. well, that is easy: those people have gone through all 5 stages already...

I can't tell you how frustrated I've gotten with other SMOKERS who tell me that there are studies saying that vaping is bad for you! It makes me want to scream. I try to explain the studies that are out, and share my personal experience of feeling more healthy in every way, and my own doctor saying it was better than smoking, but some people just want to argue.

In my personal two year journey, and four years since I saw my first ecig, I have seen a lot of advances, and I try to use places like ECF, where there are so many awesome, supportive people to remember that all is not lost.

Then the news stories started coming in and not only is she back to 2 packs a day, she's lecturing my husband and I on how we're going to either kill ourselves or the kids with this e-liquid poison. Meanwhile, she'll be delivering this lecture while smoking in her house WITH my kids sitting in the same room.

OMG! I am very sorry to hear that.
And that is precisely the purpose of the massive misinformation campaigns. To keep people smoking. So much for "public health".

Back when I stopped smoking in the house, because of my son missing so many days of school due to respiratory problems, I finally had to tell my mother that if she didn't stop smoking around him I'd just have to stop letting him visit.

She foamed at the mouth for a while, but finally agreed to go upstairs to her room to smoke whenever he was in the house. And the next year in school, he had perfect attendance, and got straight-A's for the first time ever. That fixed her for good.

Then her COPD got so bad she had to quit smoking. Now she listens to the tripe on TV and asks me "concerned" questions about vaping; I've explained that it's all about the money, but I'm not sure she totally believes me.

Things like this are hard to believe unless you have lived them.

Well, she also didn't believe me when I told her that republicans were trying to do away with her social security and medicare. Now, she and my stepfather are on state-retiree healthcare (in this republican state) and the state is making noises about how they're out of money, must reduce coverage, etc, and I think she's starting to get an inkling of what I was talking about. If they really do go ahead and cut coverage, for 2 people who consume more prescription drugs than many small towns, she may start understanding some of what I'm trying to tell her. She's just one of those unfortunate souls who believes that government really has the best interest of the public in mind, and that TV news always tells the truth; it's always disconcerting when your belief system is shattered to bits.

When I went to my Otolaryngologist he was so amazed at how much better my bronchial system was he got the ecig information from me about what they are and is recommending it to his smoking patients. I'm sure going to take his advice about my lungs and bronchial tubes over some politicians.

What I wish people would wake up to is that the Republicans and the Democrats are members of the very same club, and that the apparent divide is only for our sake, and to keep us fighting amongst ourselves over the imagined difference. It's all only theater for our sakes, to keep us at each other's throats while they turn us all into slaves.

I'm terribly afraid you're right, that all their supposed disagreement is just to amuse themselves, while they belly up to the same bars after work and laugh at us. But I don't see any workable alternative at the moment; anytime there's a candidate who is neither donkey nor elephant, it seems that voting for them is in essence just throwing away your vote.

You know there's that saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." But it IS broke... so HOW do we fix it??? That's a real head-scratcher.

The "no tax increase" Republican-dominated state legislature of NC just enacted, and the Republican governor just signed into law, a tax on e-liquid. Not to worry, the tax was proposed by an ordinary citizen---R. J. Reynolds Tobacco. Can't make this stuff up!

countering the lies when you can,
communicating with your legislators at all levels of government,
and joining and supporting CASAA.

There are other voting systems where people can vote their first choice, second choice, etc. That way you could vote Libertarian (or whatever) and not waste your vote. If Libertarian has too few votes to be in the running, your second choice counts instead.

But, it will never be used because it would destroy the two party system as we know it (the pretend 2 party system, that is).
