ROFL!!! Nice dude. Once again had me choking on a vape as I LMAO at one of your posts. As for the BB clone thing, I kind of agree with the guy who pointed out the multitude of RY4's out there. It's a flavor name. Is it shady and kind of f'd up for that other company to gank the BB name? Sure is. Do I really give a crap if a fairly mediocre juice's name is used again by someone else? Meh. Not enough to get all worked up about it. When I heard about the flavor here on ECF, pretty much every thread about it warned about the clone, so I knew to go to AVE. juice was okay. I vaped my way through the bottle, and for awhile it was my go-to for when I really missed a cig. Now I'm getting Grumpy's Hooch from S&S. Probably won't order BB's again, but those who enjoy know where to get it, and anyone who really wants it will figure it out. If AVE doesn't care enough to try and shut down the other guys, why is everyone else so worked up about it?

In and of itself, it's nothing more than an aggravation that Alien Vapors are unethical opportunists. But, my problem with it is this: I got duped. Lots of other people have too. Had I KNOWN that I had to RESEARCH who makes the REAL BB, and that there was another company that basically stole the name, then I would've bought the real one, and not wasted my money. Because, yes, I wasted my money. Boba's may not be the end-all-be-all vaping liquid, but for many many people it's their go-to. It's my go-to, right now. I was disappointed when I bought the wrong one, and I learned my lesson. But, it happened a second time, by proxy. I let my uncle try mine, and he remarked, "oh, that's goood". I told him what it was, and I believe I told him I'd send him a link. Well, he didn't wait, and went and ordered what he googled. What it partially his fault for not waiting for me to send a link? Maybe. Was it partially my fault for forgetting to warn him? I guess so. It's just another example of blatant customer manipulation and unscrupulous business practices. OK, I only lost like 7 bucks. My uncle? $15. Not huge losses by any means. It's the principle that pisses me off. Hell, big banks piss me off just as much. Same principle - and that's a far larger problem. I digress... It's just something that I see on the new member's forum quite frequently, and it always: (excitement) "YES! I have a bottle of the all magical Boba's on the way!", followed by "oh crap. I got ripped off." I hate when people get ripped off. It makes me feel bad. I don't like feeling bad.

BTW: I kind of just like the fact that there IS something like "the all magical Boba's", and that it's "hard to get". I think that adds to the fun of being a new vaper. The pursuit of a one-of-a-kind taste - one that might just make them LOVE vaping more, and stay off the stinkies...

Yeah, I see your point. And it DID totally feel like a rite of passage thing when I got my first bottle of BB, regardless of whether or not it ended up being a go-to flavor. In posting your opinion here, and in not giving that other company your business, you've really done all that can be done from this end. It's really up to AVE to protect their business and their customer base at this point.

Your gut feeling is well founded. Many small ripoffs have earned this company significant money; being first on google is huge. For every ripoff you hear about there are many more. That's just not a legitimate business practice for a US company.

That's the kind of harm that Alien Vapors can use to show that the Alien Visions trademark should be made null. There's real, interstate commerce harmed by consumers being deceived by fakes. The interstate commerce cause in the Constitution excites federal judges.

A lot.

And, as a salacious and embarrassing addition to their court motion to quash the existing trademark, Alien Vapors can point out that their sleazy competitor makes liquids based on certain illegal or controlled substances.

Those people are not nice and need a good public spanking.

I really don't think it's artificially rare, I just think the demand exceeds their production. It's a small company that got national exposure in places like ECF, and keep up as best they can. Pain in the ... for us? Sure. Sneaky marketing on their part? I doubt it. Probably a small enough company to make something like a legal battle over copyright issues prohibitive, especially when they STILL have more business than they can handle.

Unless they somehow sneakily got ECF users to vote them into the top 3 juices of the year two years running (#1 in 2012), there's nothing at all to any claim that they somehow influenced the popularity of Boba's Bounty. Boba's and AVE earned their reputation straight up. The supply shocks are actually a fairly new thing.

That reminds me, I haven't had copper creek house blend in a long time since my carto days. Back then it would gunk up a carto quick something fierce. Now that I rebuild I should be gold.

Oops sorry to derail for a minute.

They duped me too. Thought I had ordered the real thing, and didn't understand why people couldn't order it. Wiser now, thanks to you folks and ECF!!!

That's a bit of a problem, but those that buy it not knowing anything about it can't be helped, at least not until they come here, and those that look into it here can be told Alien Visions E-Juice is the only legitimate seller, any other vendor selling Bobas, Gorrilla Juice, or any other juice at the AVE site for that matter is not legit, excepting any authorized resellers, which should be listed in their forum and on their web site.

just to clarify- they are both legitimate sellers. you may like the alien visions e-juice better, but they are both selling a product with that name. until alien visions does anything about it then it will probably continue. word has it that the other company even went so far as to copyright the name further confusing the issue. so while you may be resentful or upset, they both seem to legitimately sell a product with the same name. you can warn people which one you know is better but it won't stop the "company that shall not be named" from selling their e-juice. why alien visions doesn't go to someplace like legal zoom and copyright new names for their products, announce it on their website, spread the word on forums i'll never understand. if it's good enough(and it is) people will buy it whatever they call it.....

I usually visit a vendors sub forum before I purchase (if they have one). And noticed the sticky mentioning the fake BB. It's a business tactic that probably has made the counterfeit company some good coin by now. I would never order from them and even though they made some money off of it , they have sullied their rep in the vaping community. A very short sighted business move at best.
