This is the batbatt.
It's made from copper pipe, two end caps, a 12 inch union, a spring, and a female RCA connector. It holds 4 AA size NiMh rechargable batteries to produce from 4.8 to 5 volts depending on charge state. I've been using it for two days now and the voltage currently reads 4.8, fully charged it read 5.02. The batbatt is 11 inches long, so I use a cord with a female USB to plug in my home made USB mod. I made this to sub for my Kensington battery pack (which works fine BTW). The NiMh batteries each produce just over 1.2 volts and are rated at 2450MaH.

It does last and it's rugged. I could have used a battery box for something smaller and lighter, but I had to justify buying all the copper pipes and fittings some how ;)
The voltage is just right for my BE112 atomizers (My probe mod has a diode to drop .2V for a total of 4.6 to 4.8v). I did, however burn out my only 401 atty within 5 minutes. The 401 had been used and abused quite a bit though, so I'm not sure it was the voltage. I previously used 4.5V from a wall wort with it.
