I'm rather new to this also, but before I bought anything, I came here and read all the suggestions from the members about what was the best starter kit. Well I can tell you there's alot of good products out there, but I just don't know if you can get a better starter kit than the joye 510. If your a heavy smoker, you might want to step up to the ego 510 or the Riva 510. I bought the Riva 510 for myself and the joye 510 for my wife. The Riva and the Ego have bigger batteries and my wife wanted something smaller. Like I said, There will most likely be people who know alot more about this than me come and tell you other things, and they will most likely be right. I can only tell you what we started with and we both love what we have.

I'm pretty new, and haven't had any experience with anything but the Riva 510/EGO type. The best prices I found for them are at Liberty Flights.

The Riva 510 has kept me off tobacco and paper cigs for a couple of days shy of a month, so for me, it's "the best" at the moment. That doesn't mean it's going to be the best tomorrow, or next week. It may or may not be the best for someone else.

If you haven't already, check out the Wonderful World of Vaping articles in the The ECF Library

I would suggest looking into the ego-T. The kit comes with two batteries two attys and five tank carts. The batteries are 650 amps and one will last about six hours before a recharge. I know some people have had leaking issues with them but I have had no problems and am really happy with them A lot of vendors carry them and I would look around to get the best deal. Some vendors have coupons for a certain percentage off. I think Liberty Flights carries them and you can get 20% off on them. You will find the code on the upper left hand corner of their home page.

Hello and welcome...
Glad you found us, and congrats on wanting to quit analogs. so tell us about what type of smokers you are. That can better help us to help you.
both previous suggestions are good ones. Those are two of the most popular ecigs out there. What are your expectations. Do you mind buying your own juice and filling the carts/cartos? Or do you want something already filled for you?

My top three suggestions would be an RN4081, a Joye510, or the Ego.

Sadly, the RN4081 is getting hard to come by, but that with a cartomizer and refilling has been my hands down favorite. Azsmokefree has some pretty affordable kits for both the RN4081 and the 510. Their deal on the Ego is also hard to beat, when they have them in stock, at around 50 dollars each for a kit. My only drawback to this company is I do not like their juices and the prefilled cartos can be a bit "bleh". The upside is the prices are great, and shipping is super quick.

Another low price option is ValueVapor. For 510 stuff they are really good and the prices are very very low. Shipping here is also pretty darn fast.

Neither of these companies are listed on the vendor sites here, not sure why that is. I've had no trouble personally with them, except of course, I avoid the juices.

Be careful buying juices though from low price sites...... everyone I've tried has been pretty miserable. User results may vary.

Everyone will probably suggest the pv they're vaping because that's what worked for them. For me it was an ego.

For best price, reliable, good vape you can't go wrong with an ego. I have the Joye ego with a 6 month warranty on batteries. For an even better price, get the Riva ego at liberty Flights for $29.99. Batteries last 8+ hours.

Also get a couple boxes of boge lr cartomizers and a few bottles of juice (elsewhere). You'll be all set at a reasonable price.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for everyone's responses. I've got some gum until I make up my mind. All of this sounds like physics to me and I only have enough gum for a few more days which is why I was needing help which I got. Have to walk the dog now. I am a 49-year-old who has gone back to smoking for a year now after a 13-year abstinence due my teenager. Oh well, at least he is smart enough to actually want to vaper too. I don't mind extra work filling things. This is all so new to me and there is a ton of information apparently to digest and well I AM RUNNIN OUT OF GUM...THE MONSTER IS COMING! Seriously, I'll get back on here after walking to do and jump in. Thanks to all you other relative newcomers who know how hard it is to pick something out when all of it sounds like physics...

Yep, Riva or eGo (same thing, different manufacturer) is the way to go. They have been around for over a year and are probably the most popular type of eCig on the market these days. You'll never have problems finding atties, cartos, or replacement batteries for them. There's a lot of options with these too. You can use the old fashioned atomizers & cartridges, cartomizers, CE2s, tanks, etc. I paid like $80 for mine a year ago and it's still working great.

Okay, I am going Riva 510. Now all I have to decide on is the strength of the juice and VG or PG? I used to smoke Marlboro Lights at a pack a day. Thanks for making this faster and easier for me!!!
I would say you might need something around 18mg strength.

Having said that, my suggestion is to get some 24mg and some 12mg and mix it as needed to find out what strength is right for you.
Don't buy ANYTHING in large quantities until you find out what flavors you like and what strength you need.
