I am still here. IMHO the new features of the forum has killed off some of the old chat and banter. You can do that now in conversations so the threads are a bit sterile. It's not just this thread either.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it's spring (here anyhow) and folks are getting outside for fun, and also outdoor chores that got neglected all winter. Things always slow down in the spring/summer

The other odd thing is that when you go into a thread from the watched thread menu item it takes you to your last read post about 95% of the time so I just get the hang of where I am in a thread and then I end up in the middle of yesterday's posts. So I don't trust it and go to the top of the page. I only see two posts per screen on the ipad hence the carpal finger syndrome

Okay . . . I got something to post here, especially for those in the know - however it is definitely . . .

Here is the situation . . . While I was up North this past week I was stuck using "My" Tablet/"Dumbphone" and had a lot more problems accessing ECF since the migration, especially with all the new information boxes spread out all over the website . . . Matter of fact, had the same problem on "My" laptop (XP Pro w/IE & Chrome), however someone posted about "uBlock" and thankfully with that I was able to get rid of so much "Stuff" . . . SO I would like to be able to do the same on both the tablet/'dumbphone" (They are both "Android" - Tablet is a Motorola Xoom/"Dumbphone" is a Galaxy 3 - and I don't know what browser they use, since it was already pre-installed) - but I cannot find "uBlock" for them . . . Given this, does anyone know of a program/app I can use that is similar to "uBlock" so I can remove the extra Blocks of information, especially the ones that are planned so ECF can sell advertising space on all the threads . . . Any suggestions would be appreciated - THANKS ! ! !

BTW: Already have Ad Blockers, but they do not work on getting rid of the information blocks/Ads on ECF . . .

Uncle I'm not a phone guy. My LG Rumor Touch....ya that's what it is....is for calls and I don't have internet on it But isn't there a filter on ECF for "don't want to see"? I could be wrong and likely so.

I think it's the "disappearing watched threads list" that's killing it. I wish there was a way to have ALL watched threads listed all the time, instead of just the unread ones. If we could even select it as an option (and have it stick) it would be a vast improvement.

The other thing that really irks me (especially on a ipad) is that you have to go to the bottom of the page to quick reply. Which in some cases is 10 swipe scrolls

May it will become more intuitive in a while (next year perhaps)

Hi all. It's been a time away for me as well, but not necessarily due to Forum issues and updates. I've been suffering a bit of ECF burnout which is in great part due to the thread closures. But enuf of that.

Bamrz, I also like seeing all the watched threads, read and unread. Altho it won't stick as an option, I just bookmarked it for easy access. I'm not sure if it's been suggested to those who can make it work for us.

Uncle, sorry. I have no phone smarts whatsoever. I'm pretty good at dialing (ummm..... pressing) a number, but that's about it!

NOPE - Just an "ignore" feature (aka: filter) for people, sub-forums, and threads - which can be a GOOD THING . . .
