I spent 2 solid days setting up bios when I put a new mobo in my sons computer for Christmas. It only had an I-3 processor but it's overclocked to I-5 specs. He's pretty happy with it because it was a 2009 Emachine before I worked on it.

Debadoo I have all my PCs set to download updates but let me choose to install them. Another good tool to use is chkdsk. It will fix and problems on your windows installation.
I had my onscreen keyboard quit and a couple other things from uninstalls that took some dlls with it. chkdsk fixed it and replaced the missing dlls in about 5 min. if that long. All you have to do is type "chkdsk" on the start menu search box and then click on it when it comes up. Then click start.

Debadoo, if you can just make it hold out a little longer, I know we have some computer geek/experts in here! Perhaps we can help.

Figured I would come back if I had more time later and see about some if some of those geeks/geniuses could help, but I think I may have blindly stumbled on at least a temp solution. Will know more when I shut it down and try to restart, but hopefully this worked for now.

Are any of you other ghost pillerz, still marking your board?

I can't seem to stop from doing it

KAS

lol I'm almost a ghostie, and I'll still be playing along when I cross over to that great big dirt pile in the sky. lol it's too much fun not to.

OMG!!!! For me that would be time to buy a new computer... IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER! :d

Andria

(seriously... I pay all the bills online... so without a PC... AIN'T NOBODY GETTING PAID!!)

I hear ya! I wish, but that is so not going to happen. I only have this one because it's an old laptop that my nephew messed up so he got a new one, and I got it kind of working, and have been using it for now. lol

I build and repair them for a hobby and have 3 of them on a KVM switch to my HDTV running all the time doing different tasks and 2 or 3 old laptops I rebuilt so I always have something to use. I live on computers and couldn't be without one.

any chance you're planning a road trip to Texas any time soon?? hehehe

Been wondering about you. NICE to see you willow. You're missed :)

And Deba.... A little birdie told me.... Wait! Can't say that in this thread. A little KAT told me of your situation. Wanted you to know that we like you. Hope everything's OK and also hope you'll find your way back someday. If not though, thank you for crossing into our path. It's been a very pleasant experience, and you shall be thought of and remembered fondly.

But (deba)DO come back if you can, please.

y'all are sooooooo sweet!!! Just love everyone here!! hopefully I have it fixed (band-aided) for now.

OMG... I had a 733 mhz eMachine sometime around 2003-ish. I hated it, the internal drive was so small, so I had to use a 2nd one, but of course there was no room in the box, so we left the side of it off, and the 2nd drive sat there like an ear. When I got a 2.8ghz P4 in 2006, it was like my computer was on steroids or something. :D

Found this about pluid

Mark the Denison, you are my hero.

ok........either I am a genius........or I got very very lucky. (hint....it's the second one)

this computer is so messed up. I finally got it to boot in safe mode....tried to reset a user profile, nothing was in the file that was supposed to be there........finally decided to what the heck.......let's try a system restore....... went back to Jan 7th and the only program it said would be affected was that stinkin adobe acrobat!! It must have done an update without my permission, cuz I never allow it to update. Hate that thing! anyhow, doin the restore I think has worked. We'll see when I shut it back off and try to start it again! lol Now I got lots of catchin up to do on the reading. lol

I'm goin' with genius. ;)

This is great news! And I was just wiping a tear from my eye after DPL's fond arrivederci to you, in addition to the appreciation he bestowed on the one who helped him shoot his ummm, fires. (Bravo, DPL.)

when I first read the thing about chkdsk, I think my head was swirling. I got to dlls, and my eyes crossed lol But now that my mind has cleared a bit, I can type chkdsk into the start menu. But be prepared for questions. those kinds of things always end up asking me ...... do you want to........... well how the heck should I know if I wanna do that or not? why does it never ask....... do you want us to just do what needs doing and you trust us to know what that is?? YES!!! lol

Ok my final Salvo is :-

N - 13

I was also thinking I might win the game ( but didn't we all ) I will let you into a secret that only DD and myself know.

I thought I would be clever and throw you all of my scent by hitting the square in front of my Pillar, had a senior moment and typed the wrong co-ordinate,

Managed to hit myself !!! (O - 7) which obviously showed up my position and sounded my death knell - I think they call that friendly fire, or maybe something stronger.

Great game totally enjoyed it, hopefully another game will be organised in the future.

Good luck to the survivor's - I hate you all ;)

DD, i can't thank you enough for allowing me to play in the inaugural BattlePillarz! It has been great fun -- well, 'cept for the part when I was blown out of the water to honor Kat -- and maybe the part where my feathers got soaking wet and muddy -- and perhaps the part where we pillarz were incited to cavort with llamas and pot bellied pigs ;) Really, though, I've loved every minute of the game, and especially have enjoyed vaping on a gorgeous azure blue BB throughout. Thank you, from the bottom of my feet to the top of my crest!

Ahh, thanks lil' bird.. that means a bunch!!!

I have a Sophia (kit) in one of my BB's with the Boro tank and it is a beautiful vape. For me it definitely needs the clear face tank. I need to see how open or closed it is and made a complete mess when I used the reg delrin tank. I wish I could get my hands on a couple of old tanks that had the clear face. You don't have a secret stash by any chance :)
