It was the easiest build for me aside from an rda with perfect post spacing, adequate post holes and hex head screws.

Its alright, I was so irritated by the time I found the problem, then having the insulator rip after I found out the issue, just was too much for one day.

Did you anneal the wire before building?
With such thin gauge, it's likely the wire is warping and shorting if it's not annealed.
Don't see anything else that wasn't covered.

I was building them both ways annealed, and not, just trying everything I could think of, I know the coil it self was not shorting out against the side, I have a really strong magnifying glass.
Measure and buy a bag of nylon shoulder washers. I'm pretty sure his silicone insulators are off the shelf and not custom made in order to keep costs down.

Now that is some useful info! Bookmarked that, I am waiting for OHMAN"s reply right now, so I will for now get the ones that he sends me, but getting some of those would be great. I am just not sure which ones would fit.
