Absolutely. You want to keep matched pairs at all times. Very important. Actually any mod that uses more than one battery, you always want to keep the batteries in matched pairs.

Yes. In any device that uses pairs that is HIGHLY recommended. I number mine with a P-Touch label (wrapped around the bottom section). 1a/1b, 2a/2b, etc..
