..a colleague at work introduced me to Ramstein...I got a kick outta this one...she wanted a translation..I found it trippy that "Du Hasst mich.." translates to "You hate me"...But Du hast mich gefragt..." means "You asked me..."...Du hast mich gefragt..und ich hab nichts gesagt ...and I said nothing

your blood, your history, your family. There are roots there, there is a calling to home. What else is there but to family, home and blood? If someone was to attack your family, I have no doubt you would defend them. That is what I mean, to defend.

you got that right....I got a lotta crap as a kid for bein of German descent...They called me kraut and said I killed the Jews...heck..I'm German on both sides..but First Gen American. 2 out of 3 of us kids served in the military. It's like folks still try to blame the Holocaust on me..or on my folks ..who were just kids themselves..and were victims of all the occupying forces..they saw the horror...they lived the horror...My grandfather and grandmother spent time in concentration camps..I lost an Uncle who's buried in Russia where he fell...My Dad was 16yrs old when they drafted him...as a cook on a Uboot he would have been war fodder at the tailend of the war...I may be blonde but I have Saxon warrior blood running thru my veins ...and proud of it. Talk of war always hits close to home with me...(end of rant)...and thanks again Blue and Tiggs for giving me a safe place to vent....and heal

...enjoying the Gettysburg vids, tiggs ..I think I was there as a kid...with my folks and some aunts, uncle and cousins...I don't remember much tho...maybe all we did was look at the displays inside the visitor's center...Going on my bucket list now tho (must admit I am sooooo tempted to take a metal detector out there!! ...but it is verboten )

Just don't get caught, good luck. It is on my bucket list as well. The Wilderness battle is slightly more important to go to first as the companies have been given permission to build on that sacred field. Glad your enjoying them.

...UN-believable that they are allowing building on hallowed ground! ..shame on them... forgetting already! No better than building on Native burial grounds ..or tearing down Auschwitz to make room for a mall or something...I can't believe it is being allowed! Folks should be camped out in front of the bulldozers....chained to the monuments...Where is the concern ..the outrage??!!... It's always about the evil money...ya can't take it with ya! *rolling eyes* ...I've been more ...... off the last fews days then I have in a year...
