What is Terry Goodkind and the Ender's Game books about Ben? Are the along the lines of Game of Thrones and The Wheel of Time?
Terry Goodkind is another fantasy epic. Really good. The Ender series is SciFi. I didn't think I'd like it but I told a friend that I'd give it a go and read the whole thing. But you have to read them in order.

I read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. Didn't really feel the need to read the other 50 books. lol
you read them out of order.

I will have to check out the Terry Goodkind series. Let me see if I can get a free sample chapter of the 1st book on my kindle. I don't know if I would like the Ender series. I don't normally read SciFi books but I love reading fantasy books. :)

Still made sense to me. I thought telling the same story from two different perspectives was a pretty cool idea.

Happy Birthday FV!!!!

OMG!!! I came home from work, fed the cats and turned on the computer, laid down on the couch for I swear - a minute - and woke up about an hour ago! I was going to go out to the garage and see if I could figure out where my bike is leaking, then come back in and place another CC order (vapemail today, got Banana & Peach :)). Oh well, I guess I needed to sleep more than anything else!

Home from work..

Feet ache, back ache, head ache..

It was fun though. Except for the guy that paid with 5 gift cards and the guy that got a 5 dollar shirt and paid with a hundred dollar bill :glare: oh and the new girl in the clothes section.
I get the turkeys with big bills all the time Morgan. :glare: We have 3 banks on our block, and they still hand me hundreds and clear out my change. <sigh>

Another one that was real good was the Ender's Game series.
Definitely!! I've read the first 2 (or 3??) and then decided to move over to the Game of Thrones for a bit.

Thanks :)

I don't even know what to spend it on..
Well then, don't think about it, just save it! :)

Good Morning Posse!

FV, I am glad to see that you had a nice Birthday evening. What was your present?

Things are going okay here. Thomas started running a low fever last night, 100.8. The papers the hospital gave us said to notify the doctor if it was 100.5.But we decided to keep an eye on it and see if we could get it down ourselves, which we did. He is really sore and complaining a good bit about the tenderness. :(
I am worried of course but I think he will be okay. I am gonna go to the sucky place today for my book studies and may come home a little early to make him lunch etc.

I hope you all have a nice day!!

p.s. Thomas really liked the coffee ice cream. I tasted lemon in it too lol.

Good morning everyone. I need caffeine without the coffee....

Hey Beth. I finished "The Hunger Games" on my Kindle today. Now i'm starting 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. :)
Im reading 20,000 Leauges too... Just not much. Maybe 30 minutes a night a couple time a week. Because it was written in the late 1800's, its not the easiest read. But its a really good book IMO. Im all about the freebie downloads. 20,000 Leagues, Man in the Iron Mask, Treasure Island are the ones I have right now

Hiya Jeff and thanks!

Decided to just stay home. He is down here on the couch and he whimpers every time he moves. I don't have the heart to leave. Just gonna hang around here today and be available for whatever he needs and make sure he doesn't get another fever.

James, you know there are all kinds of free books right? Not just the classics. I have gotten quite a few horror books that are actually quite good.

Good Morning posse!

Bamrz, when you need sleep, you need sleep. The other stuff can wait. :)

Thanks for birthday wishes everyone, it was a great birthday. I don't know anyone else that can say they cut up a bathtub and got pearls on the same day. Yep, Mr. V bought me a very pretty pearl necklace. Can I wear them while I mix? Is it a fashion faux pas to wear them with biker boots?

Bliss, what did they give him for pain?

James, I still don't have a book on my Xoom, I really need to fix that.

coffee, need more coffee....

Im liking the fact you are staying home to take care of him, not that he hurts everytime he moves. And the fact you have a heart. :D

Oh, I know there are more than freebies. But there are a lot of classics Ive been wanting to read, but never have. I figured if they're free, I might as well read them!

For anyone that has book readers, here are a few sites that offer freebies:

Baen mostly sci-fi
Project Gutenberg lots of classics
Manybooks tons of different genres
Authorama not a long list, various genres
Inkmesh a search engine to find free books

This one requires an account to be set up: Navy General Library Program. It uses Overdrive for lending books.
OOH! Thanks Bamrz! Im going to have to bookmark those so I can look them over. Especially the Navy General Library!

And good morning!

You really should fix that. Ive got the Kindle app and the Barnes and Noble app on my phone. I still havent used the B&N app though...

And good morning FV! My birthday present to you was to not order anything yesterday. So you can look at it as Im giving you 5% back, and less work!
