Jim, I'm tired of hearing bad news too. I have been around since the beginning of the anti-smoking movement.

First it was "smoking is harmful to your health", then "smoking is harmful to other peoples health", then "smokers are harmful to everyone".

I was very surprised when they started the same crap with e-cigs, but from what I have been reading by the "anti-smoker" (not a typo) groups, it is no longer a health issue to them, but a moral crusade.

What's next, will they want to put us into concentration camps?

This is wrong, very wrong, especially in a free country.

JerryRM, I agree. I went from being a productive member of society living the American Dream who had served their Country and Community to....egads, a nicotine addict out to harm my fellow man.

It's character assassination because of a vice others want to prohibit for my own good and at my expense. Topsy turvy world isn't it?

The best weapon against our enemies is to follow the money and point out that "charitable" organizations are really not that charitable at all.;)

Bingo! This is exactly correct. If they actually got their heads out of their moral butts long enough to see the truth to the matter, they'd realize that it is not SMOKE but a VAPOR. No combustion, no smell, no dirty cigarette butts in an ashtray.

Some spent careers enacting bans and it drives them batty that an invention was actually produced that allows us to continue to live our lives the way we see fit. They can't stand it. Just check out the US ASH site from time to time to see what I mean. The UK ASH group do not share the same stance than the US version does.

Sad state of affairs in this country, that's for sure.

Jim, I have been to the ASH U.S. site and I read about the ASH U.K. position on vaping. I had never heard of ASH, until about a month ago, when I started reading the posts here on ECF.

ASH U.K.'s opinion on vaping, seems to be very fair and unbiased to me. ASH U.S. is another story. I found the rantings of "he-who-must-not-be-named", totally absurd. Since it was brought out that one of his financial supporters is Pfizer, he has become quiet, at least on his website.

That was nice work, by whoever exposed that !! :thumb:

Yeah, I noticed that. Not much talk on e-cigs lately.

But I still find it great that a member of ECF trolled his ... and got him to post a link to a very sarcastic "news" article. Priceless. :thumb:

The days of live and let live seems to be just a fond memory of days gone by. Now we have groups that try to force everyone to live by their ideals. Everyone has to be PC all the time. While I can understand someone not liking to be in a smoke filled environment for health related issues, what I'm not seeing is any understanding or giving on their part. It's about control.

Same thing with being PC all the time. In their effort to not offend one set of people, they end up offending someone else. The whole thing just seems nuts to me. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen..problem solved. Whats next you ask..if they succeed in getting ecigs banned, they'll likely go after us for THINKING about smoking or vaping. Yeah, it will likely become illegal to even think about doing the unthinkable. Mark my words. :D

Banzhafs ego is legendary. Almost everyone he comes into contact (contaminates) with can't stand him. Personally I'd rather live a life that has some integrity to it, and not like him who chooses money over self pride.

I agree completely Jim, some people get swallowed up by the love of money. Money can't buy happiness (but I wouldn't mind winning Powerball, just to see if that's true). lol.

umop apisdn, "he who must not be named" was how they referred to Lord Voldemort in the first Harry Potter movie. I just couldn't resist using it! :D

I have to figure out how to put up an Avatar.

I agree Ladyraj, and I served my country also (U.S. Army). I think that's what angers me the most. We helped defend our rights and freedoms, we gave something back to this country. How many of those "do gooders" can say the same thing ? To be honest, I'm sure some have, but most haven't.

    Happy Veteran's Day.

Jerry, Happy Vetern's Day to you! My thanks to you, all veterans, and all who currently serve our country in the Armed Forces. Because of you, we have the freedom to fight for our rights, including speaking out for our right to vape.
