Hi everyone,

Now after 3month + vaping I found myself falling in love with atty's more then Cartos even though I tried everything to love cartos it just does not work out for me.

Now we all know how unhealthy it is to inhale burned or dry cartos but what I was wondering is how unhealthy is it if I inhale the vape of a new atty? You know this taste when the atty is not primed yet and it has this distinct metal weird taste to it. Is it real bad for you or should I not worry too much?

It's not like I stop vaping with my atty's but I always wondered about it and never came around to ask until now so here I go please enlighten me boys and girls I would love to know.

I blow mine out and then rinse them in hot water and blow them out again. I let them dry for at least a day, then put 3-4 drops of juice on them to prime it. If I'm using an 801 atty then I'll prime it with 6-7 drops because these are larger atties. Doing it this way, I've never encountered a metallic taste and I don't worry.

I blow out, rinse and quick soak every new atomizer I get in PGA/vodka and use a Q-tip to clean the insides of the tubes. Coming from China and the general manufacturing process I often get black greasy stuff on the q-tip. No point ingesting that. I get my attys from Cisco so no primer, but with the 306s I take out the top wick with tweezers before I use them. All that silica/fiberglass thread is not necessary since I never use carts so why risk charring it or inhaling loose fibers. I never dry attys. I blow them out, prime with juice, and don't inhale until the PGA/water is gone. IT usually only takes a few hits.

The atty burning taste I seldom encounter because I am practiced at avoiding it. It tastes so nasty when I do, I don't think I have ever actually inhaled it into my lungs. It never gets further than my mouth. From my tank atty days, I know that charred wicks taste pretty bad too, even though technically they don't burn.

No matter what you do, you'll never fully escape every danger. You're putting foreign stuff into your lungs and even if it's 1000x's safer than smoking cigarettes, it still might cause problems when used long term.

Vaping shouldn't be 100% guilt-free, but I'll take the risks of this over smoking any day for the rest of my life.

If this ever does become something that you just cannot shake, a fear of vaping causing physical harm, you can try and make a personal plan to quit everything all together. By steadily lowering your nic-strength lower and lower, while remaining comfortable, until you're at 0mg and just quit.

I don't know if I'll be vaping forever, nor do I have a plan to quit anytime soon. Whether it's cartomizers, atomizers, or anything else, there is no 100% sure way of knowing that any of this is safe long term. Heck, were it me worrying (I've been there, trust me), I'd be more concerned with the food flavorings going into my lungs ;) Even still, I don't think it can get worse than smoking, thank ECF I'm no longer smoking!

I am 100% with ya on everything you said. I know it is not 100% healthy yet a healthier alternative to smoking. I also don't plan on vaping my whole life but I do try to minimize the risk and inhaling this nasty taste does for sure not taste healthy.

Hope you doing good and wish ya a great weekend hope to get some more input here.

so you guys would even recommend rinsing them before any use due to particles or just to get rid of the nasty taste? I tried to wash one of my HV attys a while ago and the atty was still wet 3 days later.

Absolutely! It's just to get any stuff that came loose during shipping out of there AND to get rid of any nasty taste. Blow them out after you rinse them and they'll dry faster. You can even use a hair dryer if you're really impatient!

I put a carto condom on the bottom of mine and then proceed to fill the Atty up over the bridge and let it sit for a while like this. then pull off the condom and blow out that juice, I find this method primes the internals and wick properly and never do I get that foul taste or a burnt up wick which ruins things as well.
