Hello people...I just had to start this thread...This is not a rant against vaping but a rant against my uncontrollable urge to try new stuff and spend money.

I spent way too much money my first six weeks in vaping. While, I do have a good idea now about how and why I made the mistakes I made, I still cannot help myself when it comes to trying new stuff. By new stuff, I am mainly talking about juices. I have no problem using my k-go. It does the job for me without question. I have the sb and I hardly use it. Probably, the only gear I would want going forward is a vv mod. This way I can find my spot with certain juices. I think that sounds reasonable to see where a particular juice taste best.

That said, I find it hard to just be satisfied with one juice and just sit back and vape that one juice all month long. I cannot do it. I just started diying 2 days ago and my appetite to spend more money on flavors is unbelievable. How do you guys have this will power? I just do not have it.

This morning I woke up came on ecf, heard good things about cappela...I have to purchase at least 4 juices, I must. Then I was thinking that I need to use the sb at 6 volts(the reason I bought it) so I went out and purchased from madvapes a few dual coil cartos at 2.5 ohms.

Then I was wondering how much juice to I vape each day. I assume I vape about 6ml a day, but I am not quite sure so to fix this problem I go to electronic stix and buy a 3ml J tank(heard great things about it) with 4 pre-punched boge 510 cartos.

The more info you get, the more inquisitive you become. It is just my nature to find out what works best. I had one member state in a post on one of my threads that they spend something like 2 dollars a month to vape. How is this possible. How can this be done. Aren't people curious about a new juice or recipe they want to try. It seems the more you learn, the more you want to go out and get it.

If you diy, how do you not go to TPA, FLAVOR ART, lORANNS AND CAPPELAS and not try something. I find it impossible. How do you guys do it. I like tobaccos with a little sweetness so I need a good tobacco or more than one and plenty of flavors to test. Even small samples from different houses is going to cost money. I understand the savings in diying, but the info is so overwhelming that you must try different things.

The wind up when all is said and done, I am going to be vaping SNICKADOODLE (do not know correct spelling) beat name in juices.

In ending my only question is....How do you guys do it???? Any thoughts on this will most likely be interesting to say the least. What is the answer because I certainly to not know it.

The journey to find the right equipment for you and flavors can be a long and expensive one. I know, I didn't do my homework first either. Then I started reading the forums about different things, new things, new flavors and ideas. That didn't help on saving, but helped to figure out what I like. Now I know what I am willing to try, must wait and see before purchasing, and what I can afford.

My suggestions. If you have a pv that is working, and atty or carto combo, stop reading the forums for a bit and only purchase whatever atty/cartos you need for the month, nothing more. Put your credit card away, make it harder to get to when thinking about purchasing so you have to think about it before you hit pay.

If you already have a diy set up, try just using the flavors you have now in different combos until you get some you like. Or simply buy a couple of flavors a month from a vendor that you know you already like a few juices from.

Everything sounds so wonderful and must try in the beginning, but once you overspend and are disappointed, you may already have an idea of what you like and can stick with that, while putting aside some $ in an envelope or account for a future splurge purchase in a few months.

I don't have any ideas for ya, Frankster. If you see some good ones, let me know :) I have wasted SOOOO much money trying stuff and hating it. Between pv's and juices, I could open a store, and it's only been a month and a half. I love my little 808's, and I'm sticking to them. That's it. Well, other than this mod my husband is trying to build. If it works, I may need one of those, too. lol

I do it simply because I put myself in a position of not being able to afford it. I allocate so much money to vaping when my supplies get low and stick to it. Thus I only buy what I need when I need it except for the occasional splurge when I go a little over for one or two special items.

It takes disciplining yourself. I never use credit, only debit that takes out real cash. I use pre-loaded cash cards like a wal-mart money card. I cut up all my credit cards years ago and refuse to use them. Most people get in debt using credit cards, like slot machines at a casino they are designed so the CC company always wins. Knowing your real savings are being used for a purchase helps keep down impulse spending.

I switch between 3 different flavors daily. With DIY you can buy concentrates cheap enough to get a lot of them at next to nothing. Get 10 concentrates to use for two weeks and if you have flavors you just cannot stand spend no more than it takes to replace those few. Add a few new flavors each month for no more than 20 bucks.

If you must, tell your spouse/GF etc to keep all your money and just allow you to have a set amount on a money card each month. There are many was to discipline yourself not to over spend but you have to really be honest with yourself and want to do it.

I have MVS (more vaping stuff) disease. I believe there is no cure for this disease. I have had it for over a year...the symptons have not gotten better....only worse. My husband who has monthly PMS (paying my stash) has tried unsuccessfully to treat this disease. It is chronic, so I must live with it. But there are worse maladies. Like CFPV...can't find my personal vaporizer...and that happens frequently too. These are not age related conditions...seems to hit a lot of vapers, both young and old.

So I cannot help you Frankster as I have become a best customer at several vendors.

(Yoda) " Control,control...you must learn control." Think about it,when you were smoking cigarettes were you on this "Holy grail" quest for the perfect smoke? Most likely not. I think as newborn vapers we get into this utopia of getting nicotine without much guilt. And as kids in this candy store we cant help but want to try everything that we possibly can looking for the most delicious candy.
Find a PV that works well for you and stick with it for a little bit. When it comes to trying juices always get the sampler size and not something bigger. It's much cheaper and if you dont like the flavor your not out $17 for something that you wont vape. Out of the 30+ flavors I've tried I only like maybe 3 and only 1 I use as an all day vape. Taste is really fickle in the vaping world.
My point to you Frankster is dont get overwhelmed is this new world, take it one step at a time. And yes as Im telling you all this...Im also reminding myself of it as well.

This question wasn't answered in the 329 posts in the other thread you started?

Use the same method as you do with anything else in your life. Determine what you NEED and buy it. Determine what you WANT and have some willpower not to buy it.

I think this is a little different than the other thread...I will save money relative to the first 2 months, but I know I am going to spend some money too when I see something that interest me like one tank...cartos for 6 volts and when you diy, you have to try different vendors for different flavors especially when you make 3 batches and 2 are horrendous.

I could just go to blue mist, buy 180 ml for 30 dollars and be done. I want a juice that is much better...like I said in the op...it is going to come down to snickadoodle.

Hahaha, not sure how it's done exactly (just look at my banner to see what I've spent!) but rest assured that it does slow down eventually. I'm now at a point that I won't have to spend anything for at least a couple of months!

You are just as bad as me or worse...lol

Set a monthly budget for vaping. Make sure you get what works for you within that month first, your snickeadoodle and a box of cartos or whatever. Whatever remains do as you wish until the budget is reached, once it's reached cut yourself off till the next month.

Vaping isn't unlike most other non essential expenses, you can keep it in check or go as far with it as you want. I can get by on $20 a month or I can put myself in a hole buying everything I see.
