Got the Queen! Had to make a quick build (wife yelled dinner 3x already lol) 28g 8 wraps on a 2mm screwdriver which came up to 1.2ohms. Put in Yaeliq yellow custard high VG (70/30) about 2/3 full. Gotta say this has potentials! Didnt get dry hits as of yet, though the flavor is a bit muted compared to kayfun but the rayon wick was freshly built so theres that. One thing I noticed was its sounding like a mild gurgling. Is this normal? All in all Im loving it! :vapor:

^^ Nice setup, I'm running the same thing :)

On the Authentics taking ding's because the clones blow chunks... I'm fairly new to the scene but in my short time here I've been so confused why the clones share the same threads and discussions as the authentics. It seems standard here at ECF that EHPro and such share the threads with the authentic gear. That doesn't make sense to me. Different manufacturers, quality control, material sources, customer service... Threads titled "having problems with my magma/kayfun/tiafun/nemi/stingray/whatever seems to be three pages deep beofre it's revealed to be a clone.

I think when Jax gets his clone in he can start a thread for the clone, Q can direct all clone talk there and out of this thread. Then Jax can respond to every question with "buy the authentic problem solved kthxbye" lol

Yep, nice rig there buddy, looking good!

1. Muted? How? Erlks give out better flavour (including TH & Vapor) than K'funs from the word go, even when freshly built. Just hang in there, a few more builds and you'd know I'm sure.

2. It's a li'l noisy vape - but not gurgly. That's over-wicking. As stated before, just play around a bit more M and you'll have it right, soon!

Well, the Queen must not like my style of "foreplay" ..... LOL

Had about 1.5 days of great wicking, now it's died off again.
I hate opening this thing up every other day.
I'm sure with more information on your build and the problems you are having one of the Erl experts will be here shortly to help you out.

Q I think the muted flavor is from the new rayon, flavor gets better as I vape. With the gurgling sound, you may be right. I will open/re-wick her after this tank. So far so good! I got the cone adaptor and tried all my DTs, IMO the stock SS DT looks the best! Erl is beautiful! Its light! Parts are solid, I'm looking for flaws as I was rinsing it but couldn't find any for my taste. I was a bit regretful that I didn't get the glass tank, but this stock poly tank is gorgeous as it is! Running her on the VS DNA30 right now at 12w.

Oh btw, sorry for name dropping you Q...got my spare O-rings hehe :)

Ma'am, pls check the link I posted a page or two back and try that build. The double cotton wicks in a micro coil. That one is an easy build - as well as has sizing and trimming pics, which should be helpful to you.

Excellent idea VBdev! I will start an Erl clone thread as suggested to help keep clone talk out of this thread.

You know? The Erl thread that blows every other tank thread outta the water!

Thanks for the idea Bro! :toast:

I guess just the fact that there are extra coils and wicks, it makes for more juice consumption. its just when I think of the power output of a mech, I think to myself if there is a dual coil compared to a single, the one coil is vaporizing at 30 watts and with 2 coils, each coil is vaporizing at 15 watts each so it should kind of be the same.

It comes down to surface area. Three coils typically will have more than two purely because of surface area. Only time duals have more is in a dual/dual configuration (pretty much a quad coil).

I've got my Erlkonigin on order and just waiting for my vape mail now. Impatient as ever. I can't wait to try this one. I was looking around on the internet and saw that ibtanked offers a glass tank for the erl. I was wondering if anyone has tried the one from there. It's quite a bit less expensive than the one from erl and I was thinking of giving it a shot. You can even customize your colors as with all tanks from them.

Sweet. I'm sure that'll be before I even get the atty. I don't think VaporHub has even shipped mine yet. By the way if anyone is interested they have their Erl's on sale for $154.95. I don't know for how long. They put it on sale today right after I ordered mine at the $169.95 cost....lol. I really want to order one of the Old Sam drip tips for it. I think they look really good on the Erl. So stoked to get it and try it out. Anyone tried some type of mesh wick or is cotton/rayon/hemp the best so far?

I have one and love it - nice and sturdy, and quite spiffy-looking (I spent the extra 5 bucks on a custom paint job). Pic upthread here.

SS Mesh tutorial by Qorax, complete with purdy pitchers as usual. Haven't tried it myself (quite happy with the performance I'm getting from my Shiseido, and not really feeling up to futzing with mesh), but heard good things from them what has mad skilz.

As I promised a couple of weeks ago, here's a quicky review of the cheap ceramic tweezers from FastTech, now that I've had them for a little while and had a chance to put them to use.

Pros: they're inexpensive (around $10). They not only work (not always a given when buying from FT), they actually work quite well - being able to squeeze the coil while firing it or while torching your wire is really quite handy. The handle doesn't heat up, and the tips are non-conductive, so no worries about accidental shorts. I got the needle-tip version, and the tip is quite fine - works well for tweezing cotton or separating it when trimming your guide-wicks.

Cons: the quality is...well, what you'd expect from a $10 piece of gear from FT. I could easily see snapping the fine points of the tips, which seem a bit flimsy and not terribly well machined, if you put too much pressure on them (I've been squeezing my coils with the thicker part of the body and only using the very tips for tugging cotton; so far so good.) Worst case, they sell replacement tips (although they're only a dollar or two cheaper than a whole new pair of tweezers).

I'm certain that if you went to Amazon you could get a much more solid and reliable pair, but they'd cost you 50 bucks, and I'm not really sure it would be worth it for the purpose at hand (I see it like my other tools - I could buy a $15 high-quality tungsten-titanium drill bit and a pair of $50 embroidery scissors, but the pack of Allen keys I got for a buck from the dollar store works just fine for wrapping coils around and my two-dollar thrum scissors do a handy job of trimming my cotton.)

Overall, a recommended buy - they're cheap and handy.
