Had mine a few months from FT.. Pointed and Round tips. I use them for torching the coils and after install to squeeze. No problems at all..

Heres a quick pic of the rounded since I have them out ATM (I use the rounded most of the time as they fit better against the coils)

Sorry ones blurry..

As you can see, they havent even really discolored. No chipping either like I have seen others do.

Sweet. I'm sure that'll be before I even get the atty. I don't think VaporHub has even shipped mine yet. By the way if anyone is interested they have their Erl's on sale for $154.95. I don't know for how long. They put it on sale today right after I ordered mine at the $169.95 cost....lol. I really want to order one of the Old Sam drip tips for it. I think they look really good on the Erl. So stoked to get it and try it out. Anyone tried some type of mesh wick or is cotton/rayon/hemp the best so far?

And here's Q's mesh build: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...83-erlkoenigin-pictorial-13.html#post13629289

I've been using a cheap pair of embroidery scissors for wicks. I sharpened the blades so they cut cleanly, but the finger holes are girl-sized.

These look better:

$14.20 at Amazon.com

If you're spending $15 already, might as well get a pair of Tweezerman scissors. very high quality, probably the best at that pricepoint. ask any woman. lifetime warranty / free sharpening.

Well, it seems third time was the charm. I rebuilt the coil/wick and went with a 2.4mm 30awg twisted coil and used a touch more cotton than last time (which seems to have fixed the flooding on fill issue from my last build, but without the slight gurgling of my first). I also took the advice from vapdivrr and lifted the coil up a bit before wicking which noticeably opened up the airflow and smoothed it out.

Now I'm able to bump up the wattage a to my preferred range and it's resulted in a more satisfying vape (for me) without any noticeable loss in flavor (but I did switch flavors, so I would have to switch back to be totally sure).

Thanks for the tips, I'm now a happy customer :).

...and in semi-related news, it looks like my estia will be here tomorrow :mail:.

Love my Erlk but lately the loud sucking sound has been annoying me, especially when the sound is choppy and slurpy. What I did was to take some aquarium filter material, roll it into a ball and stuff the ball into the two large holes in the bottom. I screwed the AFC ring on and lo and behold, the choppy sound was gone! It still makes a sound, but a much smoother tone. I found the vapor denser and the flavor more intense. An easy fix to dampen the noise!

The SOV dt does look nice on it. I wasn't going to get the adapter because most tips I've seen in it just make it look too long but after seeing that one, I have a SOV dt that's short that might just look nice. Chris can also matte blast his tips which might look pretty good.

Wow, just stunning, jluc! That just may get me to try twisted wires. Is that 28 g twisted? How many ohms?
Of course it must work great or you wouldn't be building it again!
Thanks petemoss. It is twisted 28g, 1.2ohm. It's the most flavorful coil I have had in the Erl so far.

I was re-wicking the Squape R's tonight and decided to try the same wicking in the Erl, no wick going down the juice channels. It seems to be wicking fine. I'm vaping it at 35 watts, no flooding and no dry hits. Warm moist vape, very similar to my Magma.

Thanks for giving that a go jluc! I used to own a SQr and thought of wicking the Erl in the same manner but never did. I guess I'll have to give it a try now.

Since you owned a SqR I doubt that you will have any trouble wicking like this. For any others that want to give this a try it can be done wrong. The right amount of wick needs to fill the "U" where the channel makes the 90 degree turn at the deck. If you can see daylight under the wick it will flood. If the wick is packed in too tight at the "U" it will dry hit. Just fluff enough wick to fill and it works. YMMV.

wow!!! SEXAH!

so just 2 strands, 28g, twisted tight? then 8 wraps of that?

gotta try it!

yesterday, I went back to the previously enjoyable, 6 wraps, 2x 28g parallel wraps build .6 ohms at 17 watts.. warm, delicious build as well.

and Ive been meaning to go that route.. no tails at all... I dont think it needs it actually.. maybe a thicker 80+ vg blend does..thanks jluc!
