sigelei 100w failure. Sad face.

Dunno if anyone has seen Rip Trippers review of the device, but he had issues with the 510 connector, resistance readings fluctuating all over the place. Same thing happened to me.

Result: randomly, with no warning, the sigelei will read a high resistance, and slam the coil with voltage, so I end up with a 60w vape instead of a 22w vape. Not pleasant.

BOOM!

Another quirk with the ErlP. I was unscrewing the ErlP from my mod and noticed it wasn't twisting because the poly tank was actually twisting by itself... Everything is tight as I always have with the ErlK as well and this thing just twists on its own, it doesn't seem to be twisting anything else, like the top cap etc... And vapes and wicks fine, but what the hell....

Mine does too, mine's the ErlK though. lol
Just well lubed o-rings. :D

Depends if the phone users are looking at this site from a web browser (and in desktop mode) or tapatalk. I only post from my computer but read on my android phone (LG G2) and tablet (Nexus 7) via tapatalk. There is no option for advanced on tapatalk.
Yes sorry, it's Tapatalk, thanks

Larger tolerances, looser fit. It happens with my ErlP's also. This works: I vape the thing a few times right before I twist it off, giving the O-rings a bit of heat swell so that they grab better.

hey guys you know how there is an option of "go advanced" at the bottom when posting? (at least with my PC) do you see this option on your galaxy phones?

Yes there is that option with tapatalk... on the quick reply line, on the left side, you have a "plus" sign... press it, it will go into advanced mode (with options to select pictures and other formating stuff :)

Qorax you mentioned in an earlier post that you set your coil at 3mm from the top airhole, but I also remember you stating in the past that you set your bit right on channel arms and set coil height that way. Usually if you just use a bit and keep coil height set with bit between arms, without then raising, it's about 1 mm above airhole. I raise mine higher then a drill bit lock at arms and get to 1.5mm, which I thought was high. To get to 3mm, you must really lift coil quite a bit.

With the way I secure wire leads, holding the mandrel tight within the wick arches, I don't think I could get my coils up to 3mm if I tried. And I tried. Yesterday. Ended up a smidge under 2mm. But it seemed to help things nonetheless. A little smoother. Certainly less likely to gurgle. And that new taller chimney I've been using, well, it's actually pretty darn great after 4 days of careful vapeparision, just in case anyone was still curious.

That 3mm is an approximation, without any 'actual measurement'. I said "around". And that was during my first experience with the Erlk. Over time I've built it in many ways, as you know, and I've kept it at channel levels as well as lifted in many different heights. All work just fine ~ but varies in TH & vapour output.

I usually tend to 'lift' it a bit nonetheless, about a mm from the channels. Gives me the best performance (aka VTF). And thus my build is generally 2.5-3mm from the air hole. Btw, I tend to 'feel' that the juice channels' top is already 'about' 2mm from the base's air hole.

My Prinz is singing so well right now, it could join an Opera company as a Tenor. :D

60/40 medium gunky juice and it's wicking it beautifully. Whether it will make it through the whole tank remains to be seen.

One thing I have come to realize. Precision scissors are a must for trimming the wick. The smaller and sharper, the better!

Sometimes when you fill a fresh build, it is possible to slightly flood chamber and if you don't clear it, it could stay for a while. If you do find a slight gurgle after a fill you can clear it by doing this/ remove afc ring, loosen drip tip and turn cap to open fill holes, then blow hard thru drip tip for a bit. Once done, close fill holes and tighten back drip tip. This will push out juice from chamber thru the air intake at base near 510 threads. Once drip tip is tightened wipe away whatever juice that may have been forced out at the base. One thing to note, when blowing thru drip tip, the juice in tank will be bubbling, just like blowing thru a straw in a glass of water, if your juice levels are kind of high, just hold a tissue near fill holes in case it bubbles out.

If you close the AFC and open the fill holes you can push the juice back into the tank, and you don't have as much cleanup. I suppose you may not want to do that if with an old wick and gunky coils though.

I agree, at least with my erlk, if i attach coil with mandrel tight down between arches my coil seems to be about 1 mm above airhole. from there i raise my coil a little just enough to slide my needle between bottom of coil and top of airhole, this winds up to be just under 1.5mm. Personally I haven't tried much more then 2mm in total distance yet
