What coils are you guys using on this thing? wire gauge? wraps? ohms?

Just curious, experimenting tonight. :)

I've gone global with 28AWG lately. All my attys are microcoiled with 28 gauge. Between 1.2-1.4Ω. And wicked with ... Cotton or Rayon.

my current build is a 28g, 1.2 ohm, organic cotton, not bad so far, gonna give it a little while and see how it goes, if that doesn't work, I'll switch back to the rayon on see how that works. Got some Japanese cotton on the way, hopefully will be here tomorrow with a few new spools of kanthal. :)

For some reason the P2.5 gives me an E1 error, but the P3, vapes it just fine, as well as my mechs..... wonder why?

At a guess the actual resistance is just a smidge lower than 1.2 (1.15 or so - the resistance meter rounds to one digit) and you're running too close to the amp limit on the 2.5.

so after months and months of lurking, literally since qorax's intial post, i finally summoned the nuts to place my order. nano erl, ss tip, then went to ibtanked for 2 glass pieces. def one of the most expensive atty purchases ever, so hoping it works out! mentioned qorax's name in the notes incase they feel like throwing in some extra orings.

anyway, i know its not super exciting for y'all, but glad to finally join the fold.

thanks to everyones posts, i feel like ill be a little more prepared for whats to come.

that might explain it.... LOL. got to go throught it with all my atties. all my mechs work good with it, but the AR and Manhattan perform the best with it, which was suprising, I expected the Nemeis copper, and Stingray X to do best. 510 is too short for the Vamo5, The P2.5, well.... P3, awesome. VTR not bad, the wifes MVP worked well as well.

I may have to lower my nic content, cause my usual 12mg, is abit too much with this baby, but that's all good. I'm definitely getting some more of these. gotta start saving money now. LOL

Hey, it is still super exciting! Congratulations! You are in for a treat. Definitely one of the best vape purchases I have ever done. I have used mine non stop stop since I got it.

The P3 has a higher amp limit. You might need to turn down the voltage on the 2.5.

28g Kanthal here. 6 wraps around an approximate 2mm mandrel ohms out to 1.09. Wicked with rayon. Vape it around 22-24w depending on juice.

30g Ni200 on my DNA40s. 10 wraps around a 2.5mm mandrel ohms out to .21. Wicked with rayon as well. Vaping those at 22w as well. 400F.

Jax, more enjoyable vape with the nickel builds on the DNA40 with temp control or with the kanthal?

I'd say they are on par with each other except that I'll never get a dry hit with the Nickel. Of course, I haven't had it long enough to play around with the wattage and temp settings enough so it might get better with more experience. We'll see.

Been trying 26 gauge at the moment on a 2.3 mm drill bit with 5 or 6 wraps coming out to 0.7 on my stingray. Wicking well with 85 vg juice. Usually use 28 gauge but most builds these days are coming out nice so when I get bored I try a new one coupled with another juice from my diy collection. Variety is the spice of life :)

Yeah! It arrived on Friday but I didn't have time until this morning to set it up. Despite reading every post in this thread, many of Q's multiple times, and watching vapdivrr's videos, I made every n00b mistake - managed to lose the O ring for the chimney while cleaning it (white sink drain closed, light counter top, check paper towel, crawl on floor - where did that little bugger go?!). I guess I cursed myself  - it's a good thing I ordered a spare set of rings. Also had major leaking, the tank wasn't tightened down completely, oops. My build needs work, but it the vape is good anyway - great flavor & vapor. I'm happy. :)
