Has any found a supplier or company that has tobacco e-juice like or very similar to MFS Turbosmog, Tall Paul, or Red Luck?

So tried about 20 different builds, high shoulders, low shoulders, more cotton, less cotton...everything.

The flavour is non existent and dry hit city 50% of the time.

Havent had one decent flavour draw since i started with. Its a very open draw which im not sure i like.

Gonna be a long road with this one!

I'm using a clone and having a hell of a time too. I found that there was a slight air leak causing really wet, slurpy draws. I added a #60 o-ring on top where the chimney meets the top cap and that fixed the wet, slurpy draws. I'm still getting some popping but no leaks. I haven't had any dry hits at all with it though. Maybe too much wick in the vertical juice channels? I'm using rayon.

my current build is a 28g, 1.2 ohm, organic cotton, not bad so far, gonna give it a little while and see how it goes, if that doesn't work, I'll switch back to the rayon on see how that works. Got some Japanese cotton on the way, hopefully will be here tomorrow with a few new spools of kanthal. :)

For some reason the P2.5 gives me an E1 error, but the P3, vapes it just fine, as well as my mechs..... wonder why?
On the p- 2.5 with a 1.2 ohm coil 4.2v is about the highest allowed because of the 3.5 amp limit. You just divide voltage by resistance. In the p3, it's a 5 amp limitation, so you could go as high as 6v but the limited factor there is a max wattage of 20, so around 4.9v is max on the p-3. If you max the p-3, it's going to give you 20 watts and will most likely be the highest wattage of all the mods listed including your mechs with that 1.2 ohm coil. The P-2.5 and your mechs will be close in the wattage output, about 14 watts, actually with voltage loss, your mechs most probably will be only pushing 12.

Using a clone? Authentic erlk? Or erlp?

Have you tried Qorax's latest build a few pages back? I find that to be a very easy build and almost fool proof, it uses very little in channels, the only thing you need with that build is to get the coil amount down. If that doesn't work for you after a few trys maybe there is a problem with device

True story: Bought an Erl 2 or 3 months back. Spent 3 weeks building it and cursing it. While I was falling out of love with mine, and falling in love with my squape, Jaxgator was doing the exact opposite. So I threw in the towel, and added a squape, while Jax gained his second Erl. About a month ago one came up in the classifieds and I thought I'd revisit . Glad I did. Went from 1 to none, to 2 currently. You sound like me. In hind site, much like a crappy reaction to trying a juice for the first time......sometimes it better to put it away for a week or two,and come back to it. Many of the guys here in this thread have been vaping high end gear for a long time, and most are flavor junkies, not cloud chasers. That , and my own similar experience as to what you are going through, tells me that something's missing in the linkage somewhere. I went from hating it, and divorcing it, to marrying it twice lol. Set her down, vape your other gear, and come back to it in a week....things might be different. Good luck!

True that - plus the fact, that what works for some, doesn't necessarily cut it for all. I tried the KFL+, hated it, couldn't get it right, sold it. Tried the ErlP, same thing, just can't get it right, so I'm selling it to a friend who loves it.
Meanwhile, I'm using a Squape Reloaded clone, which gave me a bit of a hard time to begin with, but now it works perfect on every build/rewicking.
Needless to say, the error is user generated, but since the SqR apparently is quite a bit more forgiving, that's the tank for me, for the time being :)

Cleaned it, boxed it, and will pull it out again in 4 or 5 days time once were settled in to our new home.

There is some damage to the chimney from where i had to pry it open from new. The drip tip wont screw down properly so its not creating a proper vacuum, it could be that.

I have the clone arriving this week so ill give that a go when it arrives.

Ive followed qorax's builds and your video's. My first few builds looked spot on, but flavour was muted. Vapor and nic hit were great though. Started tinkering with less cotton etc and i was getting dry hit after dry hit.

Im using a 2mm bit, 28awg, 9 wraps, 1.5 to 1.6 ohms. Koh gen do, 60/40 pg/vg which wicks extremely well. Ive tried lowering/upping the coil as well. Between 1.5-2.5mm.

The best build was my first one. Didnt move the coil though once i screwed it down. It looked like the following pic...

Im using an Erlp by the way.

I'm sure if you can't tighten tip and not getting a good seal, it definitely could be an issue. Are they sending out a replacement?

May I ask what volts/watts you were running it at?

My reason for asking is I'm sitting here vaping a slightly gunky NET on a 1.5ohm build at 4.5v (13.5W) on the ErlP with the air-flow almost all the way closed, and it's positively divine.

I was tinkering all the way from 10-14 watts. But i was getting burnt hits even from as low as 7-8 watts. No leaks though, even if i used hardly any cotton, or filled slowly/with afc off. Leaking isnt an issue.

Let's put this questions to the experts..

What is required to maximize flavour? More air-flow or less air-flow? Why?

Voltage/Wattage being a personal thing, so leaving that out of the equation.

Simply put, AFC vis-a-vis with all attys:
Tighten the AFC = Smaller Airhole size = Tighter draw = Less airflow = More Juice into the Chamber
Loosen the AFC = Larger Airhole size = Looser draw = More airflow = Less Juice into the Chamber

Flavor has nothing to do directly with the AFC, it'd depend on many variables, including your build, position of coil, wickability and the temperature of atomizing. However, indirectly - YES, no juice or lack of it will have a negative impact on flavour. More the juice ~ more the flavour until you flood it.

Nonetheless, a basic principle remains that:
Coil closer to the Airhole = More Vapor, less TH and negative effect on Flavor
Coil farther from the Airhole = More TH, less Vapor and positive effect on Flavor

Overall its a via media between either to get to your sweet spot.

So while you where battling about flavors, TH and clouds, I had to go to work (yes, on a sunday ) to turn on some systems I had shut down them yesterday before a planned prolonged power outage. Anyway, while I was driving (in plain daylight), my car suddenly turned on the headlights... I thought "What the f..." thinking that my car was ready to be returned (had a nasty I-think-I-was-stolen chip problem a few weeks ago... still ...... about it) but I kept driving. After a few minutes I opened my driver's window and the headlights turned off... "What the F..." again... so I closed the window and the headlight kept off... 2 minutes later I take another puff of my ErlP and as I notice the clould wandering TOWARDS the light sensor... BAM Headlights ON... LOLLL

In short... do not vape big clouds in a closed car if you don't want your headlights to come up :D

Gathering all the good stuff..

Less airflow = More Juice into the Chamber

Coil farther from the Airhole = More TH, less Vapor and positive effect on Flavor

it would mean a balance of tighter air-flow, with a wick raised enough off the deck to create a positive effect on flavour.. which describes a KFL. Got 4 already, thanks! :D

J/K

Now, how best to setup a ErlP/ErlK to maximize Juice flow, Air-flow AND Flavour?! The search for the Golden Flower continues. :)

Thats funny........ Whenever I vape in the car with the windows up (which is 99.9% of the time in Texas) and I blow a cloud, I smile because it obstructs my view for a second until it "moves out of the way" ........... hahaha....

There's a thread about film left on car windows after vaping with the windows closed.
