Thanks for your reply. Maybe "wet vape" is not the best way to describe it. The vape isn't bad, just don't find it as smooth as the kayfun. Definitely more flavour for sure! It seems as though there isn't quite enough air mixing in where the coil is. Do you think lifting the coil up higher would help? How high is too high? The wicking seems to be bang on. No flooding and no dry hits.

So in the end I raised my coil and it fixed all my issues. Coil is now about 2-3 mm above the airhole. Finally I have this thing dialed perfect. If I had one complain about this atty, and it's small, I would like the fill holes a tad bigger so I don't need a syringe or a needle bottle. But that's minor. This is everything I need. All others have been retired.

this coil design was the first of many that I used to run in the kayfun. I haven't done this one in a long time and figured I give her a shot in the erlp. with this set up, I am getting the very best performance to date from this atty. flavor and vapor are noticeably increased. don't know if its the coil design, or the amount of wicking but this is definitely a keeper

Man vapdivrr. That is a thing of beauty. Very jealous of that build.

It's for the fun doing it rather then finding the ultimate vaping configuration. At least with me that is. Plain 29 gauge, 5 wraps is more than enough but it's not funny building it like a twisted double dual gauge or some parallel side by side double crossed, inverted with an ending back flip double pen one now is it? :D :D

I think I mess with different stuff for a couple reasons, one, is I'm always on a quest to find something that works heads above the rest, but have never really found it. Like you said when it comes down to it, the differences are slight and in the end a plain old micro coil is the best, but it doesn't defer me from trying, because I also enjoy it. There is something about building something much different and taking that first vape to see the results. I also like doing it to get others to build different stuff, because if no one ever ventured outwards, we would still be vaping cigalites or carts.

Sweeeet, glad you've dialed it in and got it vaping great! Now if my theory is correct, about the erlk having a mind of its own, next month try lowering the coil to where you were having issues before, and I will bet you that whatever you do, the vape will be great regardless.

Thanks my friend. You know when I first do these builds some work better then others (like this one) but as I get used to it, and vape it for a while, i then find it hard to distinguish the difference. In the end, no matter the coil, there is no one coil that is like night and day different to just a plain horizontal micro coil. There are small differences but nothing major. I still like doing them and maybe one day I, or someone else will do one with the right configuration that will change it all, or maybe not.

Well said! I saw that coil of yours - and replicated it over a year back on one of my Spheroids.

Now. I need to put a nest on my next build and see if I get more vapor. Surprised I hadn't tried that already. You are a bad influence in all the best ways.

so i got my 2 replacement erlp's, and one of them is perfect functionally, the other, no matter what I do, the chimney will not twist off the base. Tried freezing, then heating, then both. And nothing. And of course now I have a scratch on the base trying to use pliers (I wrapped the base with a rubber band, scotch tape, and then a paper towel, and it still scratched. I'm a pretty strong guy, and with 2 pliers, cannot get it off. I emailed them and they did say that they QC's each one before sending it to me. I dont know what kind of body builder screwed this on, but he must be a giant

Well, I tried just putting a square of KGD over the coil area. Killed my air flow. Luckily removing the piece had me back to my usual set up of happily vaping. I think there is less room in the chamber than my Kayfun builds for donut/nests etc. May try it another time with thinner wicks wrapped around the coil.

ok, even tried it after leaving it in the freezer for an hour, and then dipping the chimney in boiling water using tweezers, and using kevlar gloves with a latex glove over it to grip, and nothing

it should NOT be this difficult just to disassemble it

That latest build is on the erlp without afc. I would say with that wick configuration it cuts airflow by 15 percent but compared to most other tanks it still is a very open draw. The top is open but the sides are just one thin strip of kgd. Compared to Qorax's vertical build, this uses less wicking material

If my memory is correct, soon after that I seen your dual X coil and remember people asking how can that work if they are touching. talking about the past, just found some old juice, been steeping 26 months and it's just right.

This is beginning to be a trend... What's the difficulty in checking the chimney before sending out an atty across half the world?

I agree. It's not like it's particularly cheap at 40usd for the quality. I am just frustrated. I have never had so many issues, even with clones
