sedge, I received the following email from Sandra Stix on February 10...

Dear Mr Cherry,

During the preparations for the launch of the Erlthron unfortunately problems have arisen so it was not possible for us to have all the necessary components for a smooth launch in stock. Therefore, we had to hold up the launch at the moment.
Due to the existing supply problems your balance will be paid back in the amount of € 190,41 of the order from 19.01.2015 to your account. Once the Erlthron is available, you will be immediately contacted by us and your order will be shipped! If you request that we do not take into account your order, please make an appropriate announcement.

We thank for your understanding appreciate your faith in us and remain

with kind regards

the team of the Erlkönigin

But I never got the refund she mentioned. I guess I better get back in touch with them.

Just search his name in fb or join the Erlkonigin Fangroup fb page. He posts in there and has answered my questions when asked in there.

Well, the good news is Edi got back to me via FB messenger. He stated that all parts should be available at all times via the webshop (which we all know they are NOT) and that he ahs told his web team to work on it.

The bad new is he told me to contact the sales team via email to get the insulator plates in the meantime. Which I already did almost 2 weeks ago...with no response :glare:

Flying with Erlkonigin ~ No leakage :)

All I did was ensured that the AFC Ring was "closed" all the way while in cabin.

Very good to know. I've got a 16 hour trip coming up in 2 weeks. (Stopping through Toronto, btw, Q.) I've been pondering what to carry. Last time I just used a Boge carto (and vaped on the flight, as well).

I would suggest to also try and store it upside down, with <60% filled. To comply with the TSA 3-1-1 rule, make it easy and just toss your tank in your quart bag, no need to have your battery taking up space in there.

I did this on my return flight and had fewer issues. My outgoing flight however was a mess of juice all over, (caveat, I was still experiencing leaking issues with regular use have since figured out that the positive pin is prone to getting loose and seems to be the cause of my leaking).

Easiest solution I've found for in-flight vaping is an old-school Vivi Nova top-coil tank - no leaks and minimal vapour. Pretty much any tank will work if you store it upside-down vertically (pen pockets in jackets work well for this).

lol - mr q is being paged! :D

Hey Qorax I see you have the GP Heron and I read your post about the Erlkonigin. If you had to have one, which would it be? I currently have a Kayfun V4 clone and want something smaller. I use cotton wick and about 7-8 wraps around 2mm with 28g kanthal. If you could post a pic of the 2 side by side for comparison that would be awesome. Thanks in advance for any help.

Damn, that OS DT looks sexy AF

Yup, couldn't agree more. I really didn't think I'd like them when qorax first posted them earlier on in this thread so I never bought any. Mtek had bought this one for his Erl that he ended up selling to me. Since it will only fit the Erl he included it in the deal. The bottom part of the tip matches the Erl's metal perfectly. The top is polished SS and pretty much the same shape as the stock delrin drip tip..

I don't have any experience with the Lemo so I can't give a comparison for you. I believe that ECF member roxynoodle has both so perhaps she'll chime in on that regard.

On the topic of Ni200, I only build my Erls with nickel. I use dual twisted 30g wrapped around a 3mm mandrel. I find that it takes 8 wraps to get to .13-.14Ω. Although the DNA40 will fire below .10Ω, according to Evolv's DNA40 data sheet .10Ω is as low as you should go with nickel.

Here's a recent build pic...
