Well, I ordered another Erlk. I've been having a lot of success with other units, I think I'm just getting better with building and wicking and I see no reason to let this one beat me. Qorax's vid will be memorized.

I'm also making a small intaste purchase seperate. Any spares that would be a good idea to grab other than the larger air flow piece?

Congrats once again!

Round two arrived, determined to make it work this time. No one seem to have the 2mm open draw in stock btw, so using as is for now.

So, Mtek, if I got that mess to work, I have faith in you ;)

I couldn't wait, wicked it as I watched Qorax's vid on my iPad. I just filled about 3mls of 30/70 vg heavy and so far, so good.

I have the same liquid in my K4 and going back and forth, airier and dryer vape with the kayfun. The Erlk does taste better, but both fantastic.

I'm pretty sure I got this, I've wicked several of the higher end and common RTAs now. The Erlk is a non issue, I'm sure I'll need to fine tune, and I do need to spend more time with wicking, but I'll get more efficient.

Only concern is this, filling the unit and avoiding a flood. Only way I can learn is a hands-on approach with time, info here is a great guide but I learn by doing things the best.

Congrats #2, for getting it MTek :) You will be proficient soon and those niggles will disappear.

You have to fill it fast. If you go past 6seconds, you'll get a couple drops out the airholes in the bottom. I learned that with my first fill :)

Glad you got 'er going. Its a great flavor atty. One all flavor chasers must have.

Thank you both, and all the others here. It's a great group in this thread. Yup Q, just like others it becomes automatic the more you use. Roxy, the 6 sec thing causes anxiety...but I'm sure I'll figure it out, and if not I'll pm you at 3:30 in the morning.

I'll quit monopolizing this thread for now. Perhaps when I get a nice camera and develope an eye for a photo, I'll blow you all up with photos. Thx again.

The 6 seconds isn't too bad. Have your bottle uncapped and ready. Unscrew the drip tip from the Erlk while keeping downward pressure on the top cap. Grab the bottle in one hand and then spin the top cap of the Erlk. Fill it in one squeeze, and then spin the top cap back to cover the holes.

So long as you apply gentle downward pressure on the top cap in the closed position, you're fine. You can then screw the drip tip at your leisure.

Sometimes I can't make the cutoff either. Just shut the top, take a deep breath, and make another go. Sometimes I poke a plastic needle tip bottle to get it to fill faster. And I bought metal needle tip plastic bottles from fasttech for the Erlk. They are great for the Phenomenons that top fill, too. The bottles are easy to squeeze. And you can wash and reuse them. So a 10 pack can last you a long time.

Using your technique of closing off the airflow first... Makes very good sense.
Great Tip Q!!!
Thank you brother!

Two things if done right will not make the Erlk leak while filling:
1) Packed up Shoulders, AND
2) Dead bolted (closed) AFC
