You're right but 7m wouldn't raise an eyebrow for me either. We have to have realistic expectations imo. If the nic is good to use and bought for a reasonable price I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

My experience in side-by-side testing of various samples of 100mg is that color changes become apparent after a few weeks of storage at room temperature. See here:Not to split hairs, but it is 7 months old.. either way, I do not have any experience with 250mg, but I wouldn't expect 100mg to start to tint until about a year after non-refrigerated/freezer storage.
I have a bottle right now of 100mg that is 8 months old that has been in room temperature the entire time and it is crystal clear. My A/C is set at 79 degrees. I keep my current bottle in my pantry and my other bottles in the freezer. My experience in side-by-side testing of various samples of 100mg is that color changes become apparent after a few weeks of storage at room temperature. Nic Base Storage: Freezer vs. Room Temp Experiment
I agree that stronger concentrations oxidize and show color changes more quickly. But once oxidized, you can't make it go away entirely even if you dilute it. About for years ago, I left out the remains of the big blind test samples for a few months and they all oxidized noticeably. I mixed with them and even down at 15mg, the color, while certainly fainter, was still apparent. The oxidized taste was also quite noticeable. I vaped it anyway (waste not, want not) but I was sure glad when it was gone and it was time to mix a fresh batch using nic that had been stored in my freezer. That experience was one of the things that motivated me to do the more rigorous testing linked above that many of you are familiar with.If all the above is true then my vote is the higher mg must just naturally have some yellowing but disappears when diluting it down to lower levels. As long as the smell is faint that too disappears with dilution.![]()
What kind of bottle is it in?I have a bottle right now of 100mg that is 8 months old that has been in room temperature the entire time and it is crystal clear. My A/C is set at 79 degrees. I keep my current bottle in my pantry and my other bottles in the freezer.
EDIT: a 1 liter bottle lasts my wife and I 14 months, I usually notice it starting to lightly tint after about a year.
The original plastic bottle from Heartland Vapes.... I then mix it in one liter batches at 18mg and when I pour it into the graduated cylinder and then into the 1L bottle, it looks as clear as water. I do not flavor my nic and it tastes smooth and great. I did buy a dozen 32oz boston rounds to put my new/big stash in, but have not bottled them yet... before this current fiasco I had only bought my nic in 3 year batches. What kind of bottle is it in?
Well, that's certainly different that any of the samples I've left at room temp for a while. The original plastic bottle from Heartland Vapes.... I have read and followed your test for nic since you began them. I really do appreciate all the time and effort you have spent doing this and sharing the results with the members. But aren't we talking about 2 different scenarios here. I was responding to newly bought high nic mg from NR that is only 5 months old and should have been frozen from that point on. And you are talking heat light and room temp. Did i misunderstand?I agree that stronger concentrations oxidize and show color changes more quickly. Based on the date stamp you provided, it's 7 months old... but that still should not matter. However, as others have mentioned, I wonder if it is just due to the higher nic concentration?I have read and followed your test for nic since you began them. I had the same thought.I think he should open it so he can really see it and smell it. I’m not sure how one could tell a lot of detail through those white bottles from NR.
How about a refrigerator? That would be better than nothing. Or do you have family or a close friend that will let you borrow some freezer space?@BigPappa & @Rossum . . .
What am I missing here . . . I understand it is usually much better to keep Nic Liquid in a freezer . . . However, I do not have that option . . . SO - Based on a number of previous discussion - I made the decision to get 4 - 1 liter bottle of UN-Flavored NIC and some other additives to store in a Dry/Dark Closet that is in the center of a AC Apartment as some have suggested and do (No Sun - nor heat unless power goes out for a long duration). I left them all in their original packing White Think Plastic Bottle/individual sealed heavy duty Freezer type plastic bag/Bubble wrap/Shipping box. AND - Until I read your posts an a little of the other thread linked - I had no intention of opening any of them until I NEEDED too. SO - NOW I am starting wonder and to get concerned again about storing that amount (as I am sure some others might be also) since I do not have a freezer/nor can I get one to hold all of that "Stuff" . . . NOW - Do I need to open/decant each an every one of the bottles - to check dates/color/smell/texture/etc. . . . WHAT ? ? ?

I'm not answering for anyone else, but nic storage in my mind is about relative risks. The lowest risk is storing it in glass in the freezer. The highest risk is storing it in a hot shed in front of a window in the plastic container it was delivered in. Then there are points between and harder for anyone to accurately quantify. But I think what we have learned is the cooler, darker, more air tight the nic is stored the better.@BigPappa & @Rossum . . .

That was very generous of him. Maybe consider shipping all but one bottle to him to freeze?Matter of fact, @Rossum was so kin and generous to offer to let me store some in his freezer, however he is 4 hour drive away.

If all 4 liters have the same batch # I would pull a small sample from one to test quality and leave the rest as is. I would consider decanting into glass though, glass doesn't breath.@BigPappa & @Rossum . . .

SO - Based on a number of previous discussion - I made the decision to get 4 - 1 liter bottle of UN-Flavored NIC (from ecx) and some other additives to store in a Dry/Dark Closet that is in the center of a AC Apartment as some have suggested and do (No Sun - nor heat unless power goes out for a long duration). I also have four of the ECX PG 100mg liters and don't want to crack them open yet and introduce any more oxygen. While I wait to hear from somebody who decanted this late batch I decided to at least do an eye test. Holding a bottle up to the light I can see no color whatsoever and it is translucent enough that it will show. I have some pesticide in a very similar bottle and the liquid is tan in color. Holding it up to the same light it looks very dark.Actually already been though this discussion before - NO I do not and it is not an option. I live in senior housing - they only provide a cheap small refrigerator. Also they will not allow any tenat to purchase a larger one / or freezer (it just so happens they are in the process of evicting a tenant unless they get rid of the small freezer they have). Matter of fact, @Rossum was so kin and generous to offer to let me store some in his freezer, however he is 4 hour drive away.
Anyway - I am more concerned about decanting each an every bottle to check the NIC. Will it not be effected (oxidation even if close tightly)? ? ? NEXT Suggestion ? ? ?
