Side note for kick users...there were different versions, I believe and at least one version didn't have reverse polarity so be sure batteries are put in the correct way or it can blow the kick fuse.

2. DO NOT REMOVE THE CLEAR SHRINK-WRAP: It acts as a protective second layer of insulation against shorts.
3. INSTALLING KICK MODULE: The Kick MUST be installed correctly. The bottom of the Kick must sit directly on the positive terminal of the battery (button end for button-top batteries). The top of the Kick (the end with the blue adjustment box) must be oriented towards the head of the device (never towards a device spring). The Kick is designed to be used in 18650 metal tube mods with an IMR 18490 or 18500 battery. Several device manufacturers are considering building extensions or longer tubes to permit the Kick to be used with the larger 18650 IMR batteries. The Kick may also be used with 18500 metal tube mods with an IMR 18350 battery.

I stocked up during the last scare 2015-2016 out of need. Then it all went away for years and now its back.

It never went away. It just got kicked down the road some.

I finished stocking up in 2016. I have no intention of replacing any of my nic stash. I've been using my inventory on a fist in, first out basis and have seen no evidence of degradation in the nic I bought early in 2014. Of course, I've kept that in the freezer.

I've got plenty of PG and VG too, in glass, at room temperature. I'll keep using that until I see a problem with it, which I don't really anticipate because they're both pretty stable compounds. But if/when I do need to buy more PG or VG, I don't anticipate any difficulty with being able to.

The fuse can be used with different batteries. There are two types, this one can't be used after it trips:

ETA: I prefer this over the kicks and fuses. It does add height/weight but no fiddling with placement on batteries and I can see the readings. Fits any 510 and $2.99:

Those who are considering the HCigar Nemesis clone--HCigar made some fantastic mech mods. They've been dumped. Some of their clones originally sold for $40-$50, and are now selling for $15 or less. They also made some original designs, the last of which was the "Angel Mod", of which you can find many on AliExpress for around $12. An authentic from a respected manufacturer. I bought two of them. It would be easy to mistake them for something much more pricey.

Since I've never touched too many authentics, I make my judgement based on how good of a mod it is or seems to be--authentic or clone. Authentic or clone (and HCigar made both), these are quality mods.

I've been buying too many mech mods--but they're such a deal! Plus, they're probably going away for good. Anybody looking for something specific should PM me. I've probably seen it or know why you haven't.

Here is one kickass deal on one kickass American made authentic mod, and it's truly a great mod. The Brizo by Broadside. At $115, I bought one in white brass:

I believe the original Kick went up to 10W. The Kick 2 went up to 15W. The original would self destruct if you put it in backwards but the Kick 2 had reverse protection. I've got one of each somewhere, maybe, haven't seen them for years.

There were several copies out of China that used the name Kick. There were cheaper. I looked at them once and they had some bad reviews.

I've got a bunch of those ones i picked up when the first round started a few years ago,now i don't even use them haha,so i have nearly 100 of them just sitting.I really should throw them up in the classified section.

Even if nothing changes and the stocking up was unnecessary, you'll have bought enough to last the rest of your life and will have lots of extra money for more fun stuff.

I have have had a lot of fun, and I have a fantastic collection, which brings me joy.

Aside from just stocking up though, I’ve missed out on a few mods that I wanted but hesitated too long, and then there were none to be had.

This has been a great excuse to get it while the getting’s good.

I have some kicks from 2016 when I picked up an EHPro Nemesis clone with the extra tube extension to allow it to be used with an 18650. Nice mech, well machined. Back then I was a mtl vaper, so they seemed perfect. Now I'm a restricted DL to DL vaper and the kicks aren't quite as useful (maybe never).

But I've also become far more comfy with mechs, particularly mech squonks, that it's not as big a deal. I have a few other tube mechs from that 2016 hoarding run, and don't feel the need to add more as it isn't my personal favorite form factor. But at least I know they're there.

Might be wrong, but I'm guessing those notes are probably just warning you against using older protected batteries. That stuff was written a long time ago.

I stopped in a local vape shop on Friday to see if they had anything of interest on sale/clearance. The employees there, including the owner, had ZERO clue about what is coming down the road. I pointed them to some info and by the time I left they were huddled around the computer and kind of freaking out. So there you go.

I am fairly certain that the IMR warning was because non IMR at that time were lower C discharge rated.

AH - A Silver Bullet - "My" favorite and first Mech Mod that I won at a local vape meet approximately 5 years ago, wish it still worked . . . More importantly, wish I didn't PIF all the kicks I had either, only one left is still in the bullet . . .
