I suspect that if nicotine stopped being available the demand for those flavors specifically made for vaping would go way down. Not sure if the demand from people with freezers full of nic would be enough to support vendors like Bull City and WL.

Finding suitable flavors from a general flavoring supplier would work for us but probably be a little harder. One shot flavors might not be available. We would have to figure out which ones didn't contain oil. Might have to figure out new ingredients with new names to make our favorite recipes. Go back to school on the percentages we use. Etc.
I live near BCF and pick up my orders. Got to know the owner and staff. The bulk of their business is vape related. About half is DIY slugs like us.

If I were a a ejuice flavor company, aside from changing to a flavor-only company, I would be...

  • looking to diversify my flavor stock with flavors that can't be used for vaping.
  • separating the different kinds of flavors into usage categories (but not a vape category lol)
  • posting recipes for dishes where the recipes contain their flavors (especially the vape-friendly flavors).
  • Posting whatever non-vape uses the vape friendly flavors have.
  • never answer emails about vaping or only answering back with a canned "we do not suggest using any flavorings for anything other than the stated uses on our site", but would answer questions about ingredients as long as the sender of the message never mentions vaping, etc.
things like that.

But I ain't no business or legal guru.
What flavors can't be used for vaping?
The categories are already separated and the all can be used for vaping and any other reason you need flavoring.
I haven't seen any recipes on FW website but I haven't looked either. There are plenty of recipes in 1000s of 1000s of cook books.
The vape friendly flavors have the same uses as all the other flavors as all the flavors are vape friendly.

What flavors can't be used for vaping?
Almost any flavor can be used for vaping, but it might not be a good idea to use some types. E.g. you probably wouldn't want to use oil-based flavors, nor flavors with high concentrations of diketones, or several other compounds that are perfectly safe to eat or drink, but that have been shown to be questionable or even hazardous to inhale.

I suspect many of the food flavorings bought in stores are not suitable for vaping. Many are highly oil-based. Just like food coloring. There are oil- and water-based food colorings.

As far as posting recipes, I suggested that so as to better position a copmany as a food flavoring company. Just like how food companies post recipes that include using their food products. Like if you go to a manufacturer's site that sells/makes condiments (like Katsup or even salad dressings), they will have recipes for dishes that include using their products.

Just my tank on selling vape flavors but not positioning or relating in any way to vape so the FDA can't really accuse you of being a vape-related retailer and selling the flavors specifically to vapers.

It would be a good idea for USA based E-Liquid sites to convert to just selling a flavor shots of all their former E-Juice liquids. Tasty Vapor is going out of business May 1. I love his tin box mint. Have yet to find the flavoring(s) to make it myself. I used to smoke clove ciggs and his Kretek/clove is the closest I have found to the real cigg. Bought 3 120 ml 0 nic bottles which are now in glass and frozen as I only vape it every once in awhile.

Good idea, IMHO

Maybe as you get closer to May 1 you can email them and ask if they can divulge some of their recipes if in fact they are going out of business for good. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Good idea. I will try it but have a feeling he won't give them out. Would be awesome if he posted them all on ECF for everyone to use.

That is really sad to hear !
Geoff had such a hoppin Forum on here when I started vaping.
It's his liquids that kept me going ! They were pretty much all I bought until I started dabbling in DIY.

If he doesn't that tells me he has other plans for them. But still, no harm in asking sometime in the last 2 weeks of April or so.

You never know, some of these juice makers might stay in business without a website and provide juice to the most loyal of their customer base. I would not be surprised.

I loved his Cafe Macchiato, Blueberry Cheesecake, Tastyfinger and Banana Cream Pie.
I even still have 2 large Doublers of Atomic Cinnacide in the cabinet...I should really toss them, they are from 2010/2011
(kind of surprised it hasn't eaten through the bottles !)

It actually looks and smells fine
NOT gonna try it tho !

I seriously doubt anything would grow in it between the PG and the Cinnamon.
It's like Atomic Fireballs. HOT !!!

Yeah, I would not get away with stating "I buy my flavors from them to make candy", because I have also bought quite a bit of nicotine from them.

I think you could make a case for nicotine flavored candy. I know I could. I BET YOU anything Juul could.

in fact, were I a candy maker, I would probably make ONLY nicotine candy. It sounds like a niche market I could really get into, honestly.

I do not believe nicotine candy is regulated at all yet,

Anna

I remember years ago someone did make nic candy for themselves. It was a hard candy kind of like a cough drop.

People here on the forum have discussed more than once recently using nic to soak into things like altoid mints, etc... for when they fly.
