I love this scale. I love how it shows the small increments instead of my old one that only went to half pounds. My old scale would have had me fluctuating at 136 - 136.5 today. Just seeing the drop of .2 pounds gives me the satisfaction of SEEING that my hard work is paying off.

Goal today: 4 miles

HI everyone ! holidays almost over and I am doing ok (with the exception of wanting to have a drink tonight ) 1 or 2 . I did a power lifting class Saturday that put me out of commission for a few days . I am going to do a 1200 calorie diet for a few weeks , I have been doing good the last few days with that . I did a spin class last night , I wish the bikes had a distance meter on them but they don't then 10 minutes in the sauna .. I plan on getting back on the treadmill for my 1.75 mile jog and increasing distance accordingly as well as intensity . I am loving this thread as it has helped me seeing you guys and your progress . My weight was 176.6 as of Dec 28th gonna start checking it regularly . my goal is to get to 145 lbs .

Thanks guys. But no worries. Just a temporary derailment (or temporary insanity...). Exercise is starting back up today. :)

Hang in there girl!

So I just need to make a permanent move to Florida right Robin? :D

RJ- if you are maintaining your weight by eating healthy don't stress about the exercise. I just can't do it that way. I love food, the good and bad, so I became an exercise freak to maintain.

That's good work there guiltypleasures. Sounds like you are sticking to it. I bombarded the big thread with all my weight loss numbers...these guys were a huge support to me. This thread does keep me on my toes....

200 lbs. That is my "I wanna puke" mark. Third time in this lifetime I've let myself go so badly.
So, I broke out the VCR (still works, yea !) and an old video called 'Stretch to Win'. Basically a California Yuppie and two pregnant college girls doing 30 minutes of light aerobics. Even I can do that. Once. Need to do it daily.
Now comes the hard part - calorie intake. The way my wife can cook, that won't be easy. Breakfast Drinks, Fresh Fruit, Vitamins. Been down this road before.
Target Weight - 165 by my birthday (June 14th). Don't be surprised if I stop by this thread occasionally to piss and moan....

Glad to have you Papaw. I bet Mamaw will help you if you ask her to.

It has been my experience that if I say "Diet" or "Loose Weight" Mamaw will bake Fudge Brownies, or cook a Meatloaf, or Bake Cookies....
She apparently believes that a Man who is thin is either unhappy or not taken care of. I will have to do this on my own.

I went from 204 to 170 in three months back in '03 or '04, so I've done this before. NO burgers, chips, fries, fast food of any kind, vending machines, sodas (don't drink them anymore anyways), Equal instead of sugar, Water instead of Sweet Tea, morning exercises, walking, etc. Or in other words just take better care of myself. When I did this before, others (SIL, DIL, etc.) would ask "How did he do it ?"
Mamaw would complain "He did it by Starving Himself !!!"

I skipped my normal workout day yesterday, so will be hitting it today. Elliptical or friend's treadmill is the decision to make.. Today's high is 31 so won't be heading outside for my run.:(. Winter weather advisory in effect also.

Yucky weather :(
Do the one that will be easier on your knee :)

So I go to Wal Mart, load up on Breakfast Drinks, Fresh Fruits and Healthy Request Campbell Soups (I actually like those soups). The local Super Center has a Deli/ Bakery that serves great Popcorn Chicken, Pasta Salads, etc., but I stayed away. Also a McD's in there, but I stayed away. Did not stop at any fats food places, came strait home. Rewarded myself with a Broccoli crown and a teaspoon of Tarter Sauce (no ranch dressing). So as I'm sitting there trying to savor the flavor of raw broccoli & tarter sauce (not bad, actually) Mamaw sits next to me with warm homemade Apple Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream.
"So, how's this diet of your going to work ?" she asks.

I am married to the Devil........
