Didn't do much working out today, but didn't do much eating either, so maybe it evened out... Don't wanna check the weight for another few days either after eating out all weekend.. Sigh...

Tomorrow going to try for a full minute elbow plank and full minute full armed, along with the usual elliptical 30 minutes. I'm thinking I can probably manage it if not without a bit of shakiness lol

Sorry had a mini freak out. Just frustrating working my .... off just to watch the numbers climb... Gonna keep at it, today taking a break from exercise and probably won't eat much, need to focus on water intake. Might just be bloating from too much coffee or something, I hope so anyway. It was just really disappointing, I know I don't always make the best food choices but that number was ridiculous

What kind of diet/exercise program do the docs tell you to do? And do you have health issues like a thyroid or something?

Hang in there Always !

I am going through the ups and downs on the scale but I refuse to give up until I find that certain balance that works for me ! Its an actual life style change that is required to meet the goal I have set . I know I did not get this way over night and its going to take some getting used to . I am back up to 168 but I did slack at the gym and I ate like crazy for a few days . I am back on track for the most part .. I now know that setbacks are going to come up and I just have to deal accordingly .

I went to the gym last nigh , did 1 mile jog , 30 minute core class then back to the treadmill for another mile jog . some arm work then sauna ! Zumba tonight !!!

Haven't seen a doctor about any of it, had a full panel run a couple years ago when I started having problems that ended in the surgery past summer. Everything came back clean then.

I'm sure it was just a temporary hiccup in the program. I am finding myself actually happy to get on the elliptical most days, I don't have to force myself like I normally would with exercise. I know I've built up strength from all of this in the past few months, and I've never felt like I could actually succeed until I got this elliptical.

It'll all work out in the end, I just need to reevaluate everything. Maybe I'm going about it all wrong, I just have to find the balance. I know it seems stupid and petty to be upset over it all. I'll get over it I promise :)

I don't know Always...I think any of us would be massively disappointed seeing numbers we were not expecting. You get all built up for a nice number and then it turns out to be a dud. That is a major letdown and I think anyone can understand that. All I know is diet and exercise is a proven method of losing weight. Somehow it will work for you if you want it to. Maybe you're right...maybe you're not doing it right. Maybe you need someone to work with you closer that can show you what works and what doesn't. At least keep it in mind if you're not seeing the results you were expecting. I know no one likes counting calories but maybe that is something that would open your eyes. Maybe your intake is greater than what you think. Maybe it is a water retention thing. Who knows. Don't give up. Everyone can lose weight. You can to if you are willing to figure it out.

Thanks general :) the counting calories thing... I'd like to, but actually can't. It leads right back to the eating disorder for me. I'll figure it all out though. I appreciate the help and encouragement from everyone, and I'm glad I've got a place to vent here.

Edit... Downloaded my fitness pal again. Will figure out a way to make this work

Hey Always, sorry you had a crappy day, but glad you've got your chin up and moving forward.

I think I've mentioned this before but pick up a food scale at wal-mart. They're only $20. MyFitnessPal works well, but I think you have to keep your calories up near the top of your recommended amount to feel good and stick with it. Example: I get 1600 calories per day, and another 400 if I exercise. So I normally consume all 2000 of those calories. I still lose with it, when I put forth the effort to log everything. Sodium is my weight loss killer. If we eat out I will not weigh myself for several days after. I know I'm going to be disappointed and it's just water retention from all the salt. You had several days of eating out, so even if you didn't overeat, the sodium was most likely high and causing the up-swing of the scale. Give youself a scale break, focus on eating right and exercise.. It will come off. :)
