I tried to top it, just not going to happen.

32 awg Kanthal A-1 + nextel 116= perfect !

Very happy with the 32 awg kanthal a-1, trying to find some 30 or 28 also. Plenty of kanthal D in those sizes, but no A-1.

I keep trying to tell everyone that kanthal a-1 is where it's at. I work next door to a Sanvik factory where kanthal is made so I got the skinny on what the properties were for the various grades.

Nothing outlasts kanthal a-1 alloy for our heater coils because of it's specific properties. The alloy was originally designed for industrial/medical heating elements and so it needed to stand up to ALOT of abuse before failure even when glowing hot. This is why it performs so well and lasts so long in our coils.

I have one Genisis with a coil that is 4 months old. I dry burn it every week till the gunk turns to ash then dip it in water while still hot to shock the crust off. Talk about taking abuse with a smile, lol ;)

Hmmm I wonder if I can get that to work in the iAtty. Or if the red hot coil gets hot enough to burn the wick

I've used the 32ga Kanthal A-1 in my iAtty for about a month now, and it works very well indeed for me with both the nextel 440 and the CE2 wick from COV.
Both of these wick types can be dryburned or torched right back to bright white, so no harm there. The fiberglass one that originally came with the iAtty, however, may get scorched and/or melted from the dryburn heat, though..:2c:

I do this in my iAtty all the time. It does work very well if you are using mesh or one of the wicks that can stand up to a torch and not burn or melt. The fiberglass wick cannot handle this, but CE2 wick and Nexel definitely can.

Hiya, Well i managed to purchase a Iatty at UK Vapefest 2011, also managed to meet Cam in the flesh (lovely guy), managed to get it working at my first attempt.

I will have to experiment a bit more as my first coil has come out with a resistance of 2.7ohms,
If i can get that down to about 2ohms then i will be very happy.
Works brilliantly on the provari as i can up the voltage to the sweet spot for the resistance.

Many thanks to Imeo and Cam for a great product and Cam for showing me the basics etc.

Anyway here are a few pictures and a little video clip

My first go with an GG Iatty - YouTube

Hey Wyrm, that looks sweet on the P-18. I may have to transfer my Iatty to a P-18 after I get the Multiatty, or just buy another GGTS.
