When I first set up my iHybrid it was ok. I used it a bit then let it sit about a week. Well yesterday I had time to do another set up. This time I wrapped the mesh with unravelled cheesecloth. Did a 3/4 wrap, all I can say is WOW, what a difference. No shorts, no harsh throat hit, not even any dry hits. I now really like the iHybrid.

I unravel it and wrap it around the top before I wrap the coil. It ends up between the mesh and wire. No shorts, no hot spots, and no harsh throat hits. This was not my idea. I learned this from Quigsworth. Using this method, even if your wick is not properly oxidized, it still works. Even if no one else uses it this way, it works great for me.
I am also thinking about putting a strand of boiled candle wick inside the mesh.
