No, of course not. No-ox-id-a is great for leaving a thin, invisible coating that repels the gunk that builds up on bottom firing screws. Generally speaking most bottom firing devices eventually start to fire not as well as they should due to a coating building up on the bottom screw. This can be remedied with a light sanding to get them in tip top shape.
I have a Zen mini that just completely stopped firing and after a quick sand it was good as new. Some people use a coating of no-ox-id-a to prevent that situation from happening.
Noalox is fine for threads...not so good for the purpose I'm talking about.
