Could try trimming the top of the wick if its really tasting off.

or flip it....done that once or twice, especially when one end gets beaten up after a few months. I have yet to change wicks, of course that is prolly cause I have only been on genny's since June. :)

So, I'm getting hot spots now and then, but only when the iHy isn't tilted very much, say if I vape at like 1 or 2 o'clock. If I tilt it down to 4 or 5 it's fine. I'm thinking it being my first attempt, I have too skinny of a wick. I cut it 46mm x 25mm when I did mine. Could that be it, just not enough wick to wick enough juice properly? As long as it's wet, I'm golden.

Can't hurt to try. Everybody has their own ideal setup.

Mine is a super fat 500 mesh wick wrapped in 400 wrapped in 325 with an offset 4 wrap.

Oh you could try 500 mesh. It wicks like no tomorrow.

I like testing for hotspots from worst case angle which is standing straight up. I rather get slight overwicking vs hotspots.

Ugh Genesis hotspots taste worse than dry vapes when dripping for me. I fear them.

Could be a couple of things.

Hot spots can be hidden very well by too much juice -OR- you have some coils that are too far from the wick. The wraps that are too far dry out very quickly and look like a hotspot but in reality they are just dry.

25mm of wick should be sufficient but you can use more, it is a good sized wick hole.

A quick dry burn could test these out.
