Try to make the wire tight as possible. Make sure its touching the wick.
Just wiggle stuff around until the hotspot goes away.
It should glow evenly.
Try getting the wick closer to the possitive screw and at the bottom make sure the wire is tight and not touching the base when coming from the negative screw going to the wick.

I'm just not knowledgeable enough with "all things Orion" to feel comfortable enough ordering one over an iHy this being my first APV.....everyone here is very supportive and tech support is here pretty much 24/7 not to mention it's a great community here. I'll pick up an Orion in the future perhaps but passed on this round.
The Orion is the Hardest to set up, but when you get it down it is the best Period. It's hard to explain why and how good the Flavor of your liquid is. the side button works like a dream, threads are like butter. Dont get me wrong, the ihybrid is great and i am getting a second & probably a third. I also have another Orion V2.1 on the way from Germany with a custom leather holster.

Vabeach you guys keep saying it has the best flavor, but wow, I can't believe how good the flavor is on the iHy, I can't even think of it being better.
Being the "hardest to set up" is something I repeatedly have heard and read not to mention the bad experience I had with constant hot spots on a Line I had. Most likely I would not have ever even considered another genesis style atty if not for Faceless and the community here.

Well did as suggested tight at the bottom of the coil not touching the base, made sure wick was closer to the post but not touching ,went through another 6 coils feel getting a hot spot and pop the coil between positive screw and wick.

roll the wick a little tighter on the part that travels through to the tank. I ran into the same problem you are having
