DIY tip of the day.....

It will be VERY tempting to over flavor.. Patience is required here.
You know how many people talking about "steeping" pre-mixed juices when received? Well, your DIY won't even have had the luxury of packing / shipping time even if its from a vendor that mixes per order..

Some of my favorite DIY is absolutely unvapable inside the first week after mixing...

I wanted to start off small. I also have 1 very specific flavor in mind I'm trying to achieve. But I also got a juicy peach for the wife and they threw in a free bluberry which I really like anyways lol. Not sure if I can pull it off, so starting small and going from there.

Thanks for the tips guys!

I'm thinking I'll prob be shooting for 20% flavor overall. But there are a few flavors going into one juice so it's gonna be a lot of trial and error me thinks.

Thats a good starting point. Lately I have been mixing 17%-18% with my strong flavor note taking up about 12%.

Also, starting with fruity flavors is uaully easiest, at least fruits are the easiest for me to make that is.

When I find a flavoring "mix" I like, I also tend to mix up a 30ML batch of JUST flavoring.
Then use some small bottles to mix up different strengths, just a matter of adding your pre-mixed flavoring to the unflavored base, then letting them steep about a week.

DIY tip of the day #2 - Write EVERYTHING down and label your mixes. I had a mix I got impatient on once, didn't let it steep enough, tried some variants, etc.. Tried the same one I hated about 1.5 weeks later, loved it, and had absolutely no clue what the mix was...
So, yeah, whether its on paper, in Excel, in a DIY calculator, doesn't matter, just write it all down and keep notes.

Trust me, nothing is worse than getting something just right and not being able to quickly recreate it...

You'd think so, but adding VG in your juices is a horrible flavor-muter :) 18% is just fighting back lol (Since I still have to have VG in my juice)

I use very high VG and anything over 10% is cloying with the flavors I use.

It highly depends on the brand of flavoring. I'd say start at 10 and work up. You can always add...you can't take away.

Make 3ml batches and use .2-.3 ml of flavor to start. Try it and add more. When you like it multiply your recipe by 10x to make 30ml.

I start all of my DIY with 50/50 base.

The vast majority of flavorings I use are PG based so the final always leans towards PG and gets me right about where I want to be.

I like 50/50 as far as I know. Now that I can do a lil diy though ima play with it a bit. I know for sure i don't like vg heavy. But I've tasted some juices that were 70/30 and weren't bad. I like big plumes though so I'm thinking a lil vg is a must.

What brand flavorings are you using? I've found with TPA and Loranns I usually need to be at 15%+

Yeah my flavors are pg based as well. My nic base is 50/50 so my juice will be a lil moe on the pg side but just as much as whats in the flavoring. So if i do 20% its gonna be around 70/30 lol. Unless I account for it. We'll see what I wind up doing. I may give it a shot at work tonight.
