This is the model that was advertised as “the 510 killer”. Because I have been a fan of the 510 for quite a while, I decided to take a chance see if it would live up to its name. I have now used it for five days, while on vacation with the wife, and here are my impressions.

How it looks:

The model I have is a glossy black. The battery has the typical blue LED. The atomizer has the Revolver logo. The atomizer is threaded like a 510, but the connector is a little longer, and the center pin is recessed a bit. The atomizer is around a half an inch longer than a 510 atomizer, and the cart is about a quarter inch shorter coming out of the atty. The cart is a two-piece system, with an inner piece that holds the filler and juice, which fits inside an outer cap. The cart extends into the atomizer quite a way, so it ends up being longer than a 510 cart. All together, the Infiniti Ion is roughly about the same size as a standard 510.

The PCC that comes with the kit is pretty sharp looking. It has an LCD display on the front where you can check how much charge the PCC battery has. It’s a hard plastic with a rubberized coating, and feels very solid. It charges with a standard USB to mini-USB cable. It also has a bright blue LED “flashlight” on the bottom that you can turn on via the button in front, which is a nice little feature. I like it much better than the 510’s metal PCC. It’s roughly the size of a pack of 100’s ciggies.

How it works:

When I first got it, I charged the batteries, put it all together, filled a cart with juice (24mg Carmocha Twist from Revolver, got it in the same order) and started vaping. The first puff surprised me. The vapor was at least on par with what a 510 produces, with a nice throat hit, and wonderful flavor. The second puff was even better, with more vapor. I continued vaping with it for about an hour, and each puff was as good as the first few. The cart obviously wicks e-juice better than the standard 510 carts, most likely due to the two-piece design. When the taste started to wane, the cart was nearly empty. This is with the standard polyfill that carts come with. The batteries seemed to last a bit better than a fresh, new 510 battery in my opinion, which is about an hour and a half of what I like to call “insanely heavy vaping”. 510s only lasted me about an hour, vaping at the same rate. Yeah, I vape like a smokestack.

I wanted to test it against a 510, but I didn’t have any 510 batteries (I gave them all away when I started using mods). So what I did was to attach a new 510 atty to a KR808D-1 battery with an adapter. Using the same juice, I vaped on this for a little bit, and verified that the vapor, flavor, and TH were better on the Infiniti Ion.

Wanting to test it against something else, I filled up a “premium” KR808D-1 carto with the same juice. It just couldn’t compare. While the flavor was pretty good, and the TH was fair, the vapor was not as good, and a lot more dry and “airy” than with the Infiniti Ion. While I like these cartomizers, sometimes I want a fuller, “wetter” vapor that only atomizers can provide.

All in all, I am pretty impressed with this ecig. The best thing I can say about it is that is just feels a lot more satisfying to vape than any standard, non-mod ecig that I have tried. I haven’t tried it at higher voltage, obviously, but I don’t really think it is necessary.

The PCC is a “Smart PCC”. When you screw a battery into the charging slot, it will not start charging it until you press the button and hold it for about four seconds. The LCD screen will turn red when it starts to charge the battery. When the PCC is done charging the battery, it stops charging it completely, and doesn’t maintain a “trickle charge” like some others. If you press the button again and the LCD is blue, the battery is done charging. You can charge the PCC via your computer’s USB port, or with a wall outlet with the supplied plug. Over the course of the five days I have been vaping this ecig, the PCC charged between 6 and 7 batteries before needing to recharge, which is pretty good.

I tried using this atomizer on a mod with a standard 510 connector… no go. The center connector just doesn’t make contact, since the center pin on the atty is recessed. However, when I used it with my KR808D-1 to 510 adapter, it worked, since the center connector on the adapter was raised and made contact. This leads me to believe that the atty may work on a 510 mod that has a “floating” center pin, which (I heard, and could be wrong) can be found with the Mako and one of the GG mods. I don’t own either of them, so I can’t say for sure.

Bottom line for me is that I enjoy the Infiniti Ion more than any standard ecig I have ever tried. I’ve used it for the last five days, and haven’t felt the need to reach for one of my higher voltage mods at all. If I could improve something about this ecig, it would be the battery life, and after talking to RevolverRep, there may be an “eGo-like” battery available in the near future. That would be pretty sweet.

I will add more as I get some more time using this ecig. I’d like to see how it holds up over time, and how long the atty and batteries last. As it stands right now, I would recommend this ecig. I am glad I took a chance and gave it a try, and will buy more in the future.
