I meant to add... we went out earlier for a couple of grocery items, but also to get a 5/64 drill bit from Home Depot -- and they not only don't have kanthal wire, but apparently don't even know what it is. So, that wire is now the only thing I need to get, to be able to try my hand at the coil rebuilding. Steam Cigs does that workshop every Thurs night, and I was talking to some of their "regulars" in the Georgia Vapors thread, and also at the georgiavapers forum, and I'm going to try and get up there Thursday night, providing I can get the wire fast enough from Amazon. If not, I'll go the next week. I think hands-on with in-person guidance would be a great deal more helpful to me, than the videos. I've never done anything even remotely like this, so it's all new to me -- to me, electrical stuff means flipping a switch or plugging something in. But I also hate the idea of being dependant on something that I don't know how it works, or how to fix it if it breaks -- which is why I'll undoubtedly get a mech eventually, but not yet, it's a bit too far around the learning curve for me, just yet.

I ordered kanthal from this place today. Recommended by a forum member. Look at the prices for 50ft and 100ft. Not much more than 25ft. I ordered 50ft of 30ga and 32ga. I paid almost as much for 10ft of each.

No charge for standard USPS. I ordered in the morning and got a tracking number in the afternoon.

Lightning Vapes - All the RBA Materials you need! Silica Wick, Ekowool, Kanthal Wire, Stainless Steel Mesh and more!

Yea, I've been buying from lightning for a while, they have great service. They shipped same day for me this week but USPS has had it in lockdown in FLA for five days now :( Don't know what is up with that. Not lightnings fault though and it is just some back up stuff.

Ok, this is the best price I've seen on regular, standard-resistance cartos: 510 Standard Cartomizers -- just $4.25 for a 5-pk, best price I've seen ANYWHERE!

And you'll need a drip tip for those, and this place, Desert Vapes, also has great prices on those: Drip Tips -- that link shows all their drip tips, but I'm particularly fond of these glass ones: 510 Style Glass Drip Tip -- just $1.95! I've paid a lot more than that for a plastic driptip!

Hope that helps -- those folks at Desert Vapes are great, and so are their prices.

Andria

Thanks for this info-just placed an order for several drip tips. The glass ones look awesome!!! The prices are even better... Bookmarked them for future use too... :)

Hey guys, sorry if this question has been answered already, I tried to search for the answer but... too many posts to sift through. I notice that they say the iTaste VV3 has a variable wattage mode. How do you get to this setting? I have 2 of these batteries and never knew it could do this, but I just read the description of it on a site and it says it can.

Edit: Nevermind... I found out how. Hold the + button then fire button for 2 seconds. Or something like that. I'm going back to VV... I'm too used to it lol.

Yea I really don't feel like VW is that important of a feature to have on a PV... like if a device didn't have that feature, it wouldn't deter me from wanting it if I liked everything else about it. It is nice to have I suppose.. in case I ever decide to go VW for some reason. Anyways... love this battery! There really isn't anything better than this in the same form factor/size right is there (small Ego style battery)?

I prefer VW, but require at least VV :)

Same juice with a different coil and VW automagically gives me the same vape. Same juice, different coil, and I need to adjust the volts. And I don't have to be quice as careful when I rewind coils.

Guess I'm lazy.

This is exactly why I just decided to start using the vw instead of the vv as I have been... I've got some 2.2 coils, some 2.5 coils, and some 2.5 cartos... but also that 2.2 carto still works! And some of the 2.5 ones routinely register at 2.8, 2.9, or even 3.0... my brain is tired of trying to figure out how to get a good vape without burnt taste. So I think I'll just stick to the vw and let IT decide where that sweet spot is.

I *have* learned that since I started using the cotton as flavor wick, I really need to take a "priming" hit or two before I hit the fire button, to avoid that awful dry hit taste. ugh! I guess that will be even more true when I start with the rebuilding and use cotton inside the coil too. It's a better taste, much better, but it takes a bit more time to get soaked in juice than the silica did.

And I'm going to order that 30ga kanthal that someone gave me a link to, on the last pg I think... was that Paul? I think? Excellent price... the 50' is only .40 higher than the 25' !! It jumps when you go to 100ft, so I think I'll save a little money and get the 50' ... cause I already have a shopping cart full at myfreedomsmokes, $42 this time... ;) And those boogers sold out of the black knucklehead tips between Saturday and today... *sigh* so I'll get a couple more of the vase shaped, they have them on sale.

Hey hey hey, MadVapes has the black knuckleheads! Same price (essentially) as MFS, so I went ahead and ordered one from them, plus another black vase-shaped.

Got the kanthal wire coming too... :)

So, and I think this will be my last carto-related question for a while, it has a dedicated flavor from start to finish? I'm guessing I could layer in similar ones, like coffee and chocolate, or blackberry and raspberry, but that would be it, right?

Some of my favorite karto "flavors" were complete mixing accidents! :D
